Every one of those lads in a Barnsley shirt gave their all today. Well worked goal from Davies, who would've had a hat trick were it not for two superb saves in the second half from Steele. I think that was a well earned and deserved victory.
how was our defence well a clean sheet says it all, but did we defend well or did we get away with it ??
splendid news perhaps a couple of signings now and we will be fine.I have to confess that I was not confident at the start, and woulda been OK with a draw.But seems we played well, Middlesboro are not going to be a struggling side I think and so we have done well.Good for all departments, Confidence,morale,belief etc. I am well pleased and am gonna perhaps break out a decent claret and some cold bottles too.
Re: how was our defence Goldbourne and Stones were the best two players on the park, young Stonesy had Emnes in his back pocket all afternoon. Wiseman and Foster were solid, made a few errors near the end, but Wiseman, Stones and even Harewood all made game saving challenges in the penalty area in the last 5 minutes. Well deserved win. Should have probably had a couple more goals, Harewood, Etuhu and Davies all came close, Cwyka flashed a great effort wide in the first half too.
Taking into account The players who weren't playing, I'm dead chuffed with the performance from each lad in what was an excellent team performance. Everyone played their part.
Re: Taking into account fantastic result and display,a stark contrast to the corresponding fixture last season. every pundit,bookie and even opposing fans have got us down for relegation this season this result shoves it right up em and hopefully we can carry it on. i,m not getting carried away on one result and great performance but that display has shown to me we have fighting spirit in the side ans i'm quietly confident of championship football next season. you reds
Great performance. I would perhaps have swapped harewood for an extra midfielder for the last ten minutes! But a performance where everybody did his bit? Have we accidentally stumbled upon our best defence?
I'll give it a wow performance we look to have very balanced team/squad with more to come throughout the season lets hope we can keep everything together this season!
