just been told this by a Cardiff fan he was offered last summmer 1 yr deal, and if he plays 40+ games an extre year with the same wages. they had a VERBAL agreement to play him over 40 games aslong as he concells the 2nd yr deal, and he said yes. so we played him and now he wants a 2nd year. we got over 8 mill in the bank we can pay his wages, basically we just dont want him bcos we dont think hes good anymore if he REALLLLY digs his heels in he can realisticly have a 2nd year, but he knows he isnt gonna play, he just wants a payoff he did come to training, and city didnt expect him to come, but they did let him train and half way thorugh he left and shook the hands of the pther players??
Ridsdale at it again? I'm sorry - but he likes to fight battles he legally has no right to win. Its written into his contract that he could get an extra year based on a number of clauses. He's hit the clauses but they've decided not to renew based on a verbal discussion - from my looking at it Cardiff dont have a leg to stand on. Why doesnt he just tape the conversation or get it in writing? Hes a first class clown.
RE: Ridsdale at it again? This is what a Cardiff fan told me: "Firstly the accounts only cover transactions up to 31st May 2007. We sold Chopra for £5m only 6 weeks later, which in one go would have wiped out the operating loss and in fact put us slightly in profit. The debt to Langston is £24.2m not £31m (I have read the accounts) and of that £9m is written off against naming rights for the new stadium. However, Mr. P Ridsdale was 'paid' a £500,000 'bonus' for negociating the transfer of ownership from Sam Hammam to the new consortium in December 2006. Even though he converted this into a share option in the holding company (Cardiff City Limited), it has still raised eye brows down here. The Jimmy FH situation is a complete farce. Ridsdale f**ked up big time on the one year option and it would appear the club will have to pay JFH £20k per week for the forthcoming season. It doesn't end there, Ridsdale was paid £534,000 salary as Chairman! So the total wage bill for Peter Ridsdale for 2006/7 was just over £1m on turnover of £10m. In other words Peter Ridsdale took 10% of our total turnover in salary/bonuses for himself" He's a bloody parasite in football
