One is from Yorkshire, t'others are Saudi. According to Star online. Don says "nowt concrete" again, again.
Well obviously the way to go is the Yorkshire based 1. I mean we don't want some Arab chucking £200mill at us do we?
Spanish, Italian, Qatar, Saudi, Yorkshire.... Where do they get these from? Is the Yorkshire consortium led by Percy Turner? THE Star has discovered that TWO new investors are believed to be interested in buying Barnsley. A Yorkshire consortium and a Saudi Arabian business group are believed to have expressed an interest in purchasing the Championship club, currently owned by Barnsley businessman and fan Patrick Cryne. However, the Reds were staying tight-lipped yesterday when asked about any potential new investors. “We’ve not had any concrete offers on the table, so there’s not much more I can say,” said director Don Rowing
It's the rhubarb consortium. 3 Yorkshire based gazzillionaires from each of the 3 corners of the Rhubarb Triangle previously formed a cartel and have been price fixing the cost of pie fillings for years. They now feel it's time to give something back to Yorkshire.
The club should just go for broke like everyone else, borrow 50million then try to get into the premier league so that they can pay it back
I agree, It won't happen. (Rhubarb) pie in the sky, all designed to keep the fans off the club's back for a little longer.
You know if we had some Arab prince in charge of us chucking money at us like the Man City/Chelski of the Championship some people would still complain even though we'd more than likely see Premiership football again and have our best time in our whole history.
Exactly and then complain when we have to sell the 1st half decent player in order to pay the gas bill.
It wouldnt be Barnsley FC though. No more than Man City's success has much if anything to do with the people of Manchester.
Well good luck to you. I'd rather support a club where we are where we are because of the people involved with club and town. Barnsley itself would be better off with several hundred million being spent on it rather than the football club.
Every club tries to buy success so we'd be no different. At least we'd play better teams, in front of bigger crowds, have a better squad of players and win more matches. Wouldn't bother me at all. Then you'd have glory supporters of surrounding areas (Sheffield/Leeds/Huddersfield etc) eventually start wanting to watch us for being very successful in an higher league. Then our Arab billionaire owner to accomodate would build a new West Stand and have to put another tier on the North Stand and Ponty End. We can dream......
i am sure there's a joke here some where A Yorkshire man, Spanish man and Arab try to but a football club...
