I've sat in a dark corner for three whole hours today racking my brains to solve the problem, and I've done it...* THE BARNSLEY FC 'PAY WHAT YOU LIKE' PLAN The idea is that 15000 Season Tickets are made available (or whatever other amount), and fans are given the chance to pay what they like for them. Applications can be made for upto 4 Season Tickets per household, with a secret bid that the buyer is willing to pay. BFC then allocate Season Tickets for the highest 15000 bids and money is automatically taken from the bidders credit card. I don't think too many people will be willing to risk anything below £100 incase they miss out, and 15000 Season Tickets at £100 is a lot of money. £1.5M to be precise. So what if everyone bid £200? A perfectly reasonable sum for a full season of football, no? £3M. £300? £4.5M. What if some of the more affluent people see the benefit of the scheme to the club and are willing to pay £1000 to guarantee their seat? BARNSLEY FC. HOW MUCH ARE THEY WORTH TO YOU? *Details yet to be ironed out...
We need to see what budget we've got to play around and what the club ownership situation is and cut our cloth accordingly. We don'e want to end up in admin again - not with a 10 point deduction
