Just a bit of an update for those interested. The follow-up Fan Advisory Group meeting was held last night at Oakwell. The main objective was to agree on the group's terms of reference, its values, objectives and how it should be run, although there was discussion on several other topics at the end of the session. We also approved the minutes of the first meeting, which will be published in due course. This gives a flavour of what sort of organisation this group will be. The next step will be for people to nominate themselves to serve on the advisory group, which will be voted on at the next meeting. It was a very well-run session by John Flatman, supported by Rob Zuk, John Bird, Mladen Stormaz, Locky and a guy from the fan engagement consultants who have been engaged to help with this and whose name completely escapes me. I can see this starting to take shape nicely.
I am going to sound a little more stupid than usual but what is the difference between someone who serves on the fan advisory group and someone who is in the fan advisory group?
The 50 or so people who have been involved so far will vote for a number of roles on the Fan Advisory Board who will represent that body (and the wider fan base going forward). They will meet with the club regularly, but there will be consultation with that wider group and the wider fan base. Hope that makes sense. Once the minutes are published it will hopefully make more sense but don't want to jump the gun on these things
And we're not calling it F.A.G, are we? I'm only pushing the question again, because you've called it that in the thread. Is it being renamed Fan Advisory Board?
No just careless on my part. A few different variations were discussed last night similar to Fan Advisory Board but definitely not F.A.G.
Im guessing maybe 40 including those on Teams. Are you sure you didn’t miss the email like I did? It was only the fact I saw it mentioned on Facebook that I checked my emails. Sent Feb 12 around 9.42 with the minutes of the 1st meeting
I didnt speak to him. John Flatman led the meeting aided by John Bird and then we were split into groups for a sort of workshop which is where the other staff got involved by dipping in and out of different groups. John F, Rob Zuk and the fan engagement consultant dipped in and out of our group.
Not sure but havent they advertised for a new Club Secretary and a new Head of Marketing. Probably someone to replace Jon’s role?
