    The number of players coming through shows the Club were right to stick with the Academy................IMHO

    I think you're right. Maybe it'll start paying off now. The expectations are sky high for a Championship club academy to produce Championship level players. Of course there are no more guarantees of that than there are for a League 2 club. Producing professional players of all levels should be an achievement in itself. When you consider the quality that has been bought into the Championship over the last few seasons, producing home-grown players that can mix it with them is a considerable achievement.

    Its certainly a lot harder to bring players through than it was in the Days when a good 17-18 year old could be given a run in the side and be able to hold a place in the old Third and Fourth Division Days.

    The Championship is as good as Division One was pre-Premiership.
