It's next years that'll be interesting. But looking forward to Dave talking us through this years anyway.
Ok, I've had a quick look through and a brief summary is as follows: Sales up to £9.125m from £8.65m Wages and salaries up to £7.6m from 6.9m There is indeed a profit of £1.9m compared with a virtual break even in the previous year HOWEVER there was a profit on player trading of £2.8m. Had we not sold players there would have been a loss of £0.9m The clubs indebtedness to the beneficial owner Oakwell holdings Ltd remained virtually unchanged at £3.12m. The beneficial owner still guarantees the overdraft up to £1.98m. Basically the club has shown an improvement but only by selling its players. I'm sure though that there are a significant number of clubs who would gladly swap accounts. If the club is to be self financing then we probably need extra gate receipts of £1.m about 3.5k season ticket holders or be able to produce a salable player about the level of John Stones every second year. As I said a very quick look as I'm doing tax returns at the moment. BTW the later paragraphs are only my opinion
Trouble is Dave, this years accounts released next year will be scary. We've sold Golbourne for 350k, but spent more than that ourselves and player wages/fees etc will have shot up big time. And if we're relegated......... Still hoping to get to Saturday with O'Grady still a Tarn player.
The club did spend more in the summer but they will not have risked a lost Whitey I don't think. I feel we income the club received as gone up and hopefully will go up again.
The club will not be put at risk Whitey. From the ST event a few weeks ago Ben mansford answered a question about money spent and from the answer I got from him that they won't spend over the budget.
We may not have spent over whatever the budget was, but we haven't received £4.5m in transfer fees this year. Do you get my point? We haven't had a cup run either, like last year. We have lost a lot of money this year so far. A lot. And if we get relegated, it'll be a ******* disaster financially. Either way, I blame Flitcroft.
If those accounts Whitey say the club made 2 million, I don't think the club would have been a loss above 2 million for the accounts that will be released next season. Also I would imagine incomes gone up
