18 year old Italian keeper, what was the f.c-king point in signing Letheran? small squad with 3 young pro keepers and 6 strikers, 3 of which never get a game, yet one left back to speak of, barking. maybe I've got up on wrong side of bed....coffee...
It does seem a bit strange, Ritchie must be really struggling with trying to find an experienced keeper to challenge Colgan. Might just be short term while he keeps looking. Chron says 3 months.
Absolutely no consistency in anything that he says "There's no rush to sign a keeper, we'll loan someone in if Colgan gets injured." "A striker is not the priority" rate the guy highly, probably the best management team we've had since Wilson, but he contradicts himself constantly.
Still wondering why Darren Ward left the trial, even when he went to train with the blunts he was supposed to come back and play for us at Bradford PA but just didn't bother turning up. We do seem to have been turned down by quite a few players this close season.
Our summer recruitment "We need some experience." fair do's, Healy is 26 and has played previously at Championship level, but everyone else we've signed is a bairn. Kazim Richards apparently is "exactly the type of player we need", and we're loaning an 18 yr old that we have zero chance of keeping as cover for Colgan, and only a few weeks after signing a youth from Swansea. going back to us signing Wright straight after signing Richards, we seem to opperate a transfer policy similar to Yorkshire Traction. just doesnt make any sense to have so many reserves in one or 2 positions, when we're running a tight ship.
RE: Our summer recruitment give the lad a chance he is a decent young keeper and can't see him being crap if he is from arsenal plus i have signed him on fm 2006 for the reds decent stats on there! i know its different but lets have confidence in ritchie's ability and beat southampton tomorrow!
If this is true............... .......are we sure we're even paying a penny? No skin of our noses and all that?</p>
Ritchie says ' We're setting our sights as high as we can within our budget' which seems to imply he ain't coming cheap, so I suppose we must be paying at least a fair chunk of his wage.
Another classic "He's got good experience down there and played a couple of games, which is exactly what we need." 2 games is experienced? f.-uck me, that makes Kell look ever present.
RE: I think that's because only half the words are his. have to say it would appear, possibly/arguably, that the Chairman and the Manager dont seem quite, perhaps, 'joined up' with their comments in the media. sometimes.
On the plus side, if we are one up with 5 mins left at least we can guarantee him wasting most of that time by rolling about pretending to be injured.
