What can we do to try and save The Ashes in the third test? I think there will be changes and I think these will be:

    1: Monty will be dropped.
2: Bresnan will be brought back
3: Bell to bat at 3

Anyone else think changes will be made?

    1) Keep Monty, drop Swann
    2) Only hit the ball on the posh side.
    3) Bring Bresnan, Bairstow and Finn back in.
    4) I make that 14 players. Should give us a chance.

Yep, they'll go with one spinner
Don't think Bres will come back in maybe Finn
Root to bat No3. He got a bit of credit from last test.
Ballence and Bairstow playing in three day game for Lions so i can't see either of them playing.

Unless we bat with a bit more bravery Johnson is going to have a field-day.

I think Bresnan will come back but would be happy to see Finn come back. Root did bat well and gets a lot of credit but Bell is still a better batsman IMO. Bell 3 and Root 4 for me.

It's just my opinion Mario with a little bit of info about the Lions game in Perth thats underway. You got it right for the last test.

It's johnsons home ground, hes very good at i.

For me it's Finn over Bres because of is pace and height. We don't have anyone close in my opinion thats similar to Johnson. The closest is Mills from Essex and hes raw.

Circumcise the entire Aussie squad, their mobility in the field will be severely depleted allowing England to amass a huge first innings lead and stroll to victory thereby reducing the series deficit to 2-1.

Perth will suit the pace bowlers and while Bell and Root get some credit I think Carberry and especially Cook need to step up. KP has been disappointing too.

    1. Keep Monty over Swanna
    2. Bring Finn in for pace and bounce
    3. Leave Root where he is, our top scorer at Adelaid, why move him?!

    Move KP down the order?

    Pick Brezzie over Stokes
    Pick Finn over Monty
Leave Root where he is as number three could be his position for the next decade
Read the riot act to the whole squad

If we lose the next test (and I think it will be drawn in all honesty - we'll get a 2-2 from the series) drop Prior for Bairstow and let him keep wicket for the last two matches. Bairstow keeping is the future.

    Brother Lee Love.

We're gonna get smashed again. Ashes gone by the end of the weekend. Bres is our only hope.

Pretty much my team as well - I wouldn't go with a spinner at all, KP & Root can bowl a bit of spin if required.

Bring in Stokes for Panesar - it's going to be a seamers paradise and the batting order is much stronger that way - Stokes to come in at number 8.

Bring in stokes for panesar? Stokes played the last bloody game!

No specialist spinner for me at Perth. Four seamers, root and KP share the spinning requirement - if there is any at all. Bres is needed to run into the wind and bowl, there's nobody better for that. The Fremantle Doctor is a big factor, might help it swing for him and jimmy. And we need the raw pace of Finn at the WACA too, there's nowhere quicker or bouncier. Stokes unfortunate to miss out - as I think we need a batsman at six. Though if they went in with stokes at six again I can see swann being picked over Finn. I wouldn't, my team would be:

    Cook
    Carberry
    Root
    Pietersen
    Bell
    Ballance
    Prior
    Bresnan
    Broad
    Anderson
    Finn

Stokes played in the last test. I'm looking forwards to the second round of Stokes v Johnson.
