I was at the Clochester game last week and i was disgusted in so called Barnsley fans who were quite as a mouse, the only noise was the coming from the grumbling fans who rather than support the team turned their attention on the manager and chairman.
For the so called fans who cl;early have short memories, we were promoted by a play off spot not by winning the league, and the current owners have saved the club.
Our new manager took over from a manager who could not be bothered to better the team, simon d. has been in post and already has done something about the personnel.
We are not in a position to buy the ROONEYS etc and the way our fans behave he wouldnt come anyway.
Tuesday is a massive game v Hull, grumblers please stay away, real supporters only.
LETS HERE SOME REAL SUPPORT

Couldn't be bothered to sign ***** players who'd struggle to get a game for Poggy West End Club over 60s, you mean.

I disagree totally.Look at the table, look at the performances over the season so far.

We have the right to be very worried about whats happenming at Oakwell, you could hire brass bands & pop groups but all the singing in the world isn't the reason while we are staring division 1 in the face.
Sorry but everything you say I disagree with. The team needs to perform to get crowds in & create a atmosphere, what they get paid for.

I dont have a short memory

Mine goes back to nearly 30 yrs of being a Reds fan. The good times are firmly behind us for the time being. The bad times are NOW. How can you expect us to be all happy clappy during a game like Colchester at home when were getting arse raped? Do you want us to get behind a manager that wont play his best team?

Singing your heart out wont make Dwayne Mattis play well, It wont make Howard as effective on the wing as in central midfield. It wont magic Anthony Kay back into the squad either.

Its been largely like that since we last left this division

and our poor home record over recent years is testament to that.

The home record wasnt that good last season.

It cost us automatic promotion.

We drew more than we won.

Only won about 2 home games after Xmas.

Correct

Not the lack of defeats but the lack of wins.

The constant failure to defend a lead.

We would have gone up automatically if we hadn't sold Burns, IMHO.

RE: Correct

We struggled for a centre back, plus a defensive midfield player when Burns went. Tried to sign Watt, but he chose Swansea. Another one to turn us down.

We stopped scoring goals.

Was Burns gonna start bagging them?

I agree

the failure to get Burns to stay, the failure to replace him and the abject failure to obtain a decent CH were big mistakes although we got away with it last season.

So why not go all out to sort it out this season? We sacrificed Scott to get Togwell, but could not get Foster, why? The reason? Wages.

Midfield had a good balance then, upset the balance there and the whole team suffers. Howard and McPhail having to cover for Burns defensive duties? Was that not going to stiflecreativity?

This is a tiresome subject

and has been discussed ad nauseam

People believe what they want to believe.

Most players choose clubs not simply on how much they are going to get paid. Other factors also play a part - personal circumstances, favourite clubs, geographical preference, ambition of both players and club (and that does not always mean a club lacks ambition some players are happy in the comfort zone) do they like the area, is the timing right for them, agents, yadda yadda yadda.

Both the chairman and the manager have a say in how much of the budget can be spent on any particular player.

At the end of the day if you cant get exactly what you want then you have to compromise

Serious errors of judgement were likely made by all parties but at the end of the day you cannot make particular players sign for your team.
