firstly what made me laugh was when he has said its time to move on... OMG really Gareth... then I looked at the deal. £85 million/100 mill euros. £300,000 a week.. YES A WEEK. We have not looked at the sign on fee as yet , I was always believing it was 10%.. so if that's true then Bale has already banked £8.5 million.
So a six year contract on 300k weekly... ermt hats around 9.3 million...seriously I doubled checked the calculator too.
Now beginning to really take a big look at football in the modern age. I am thinking it really sucks... and the fans are the mugs.

Lots of interest and demand mean a lot of money involved in football, thats the way it is now.

What blows my mind is he earns our record transfer fee in a little over a month...

yup I looked at a , in the wrong place £93 mill it is... obscene is what I say

imagine in a few years maybe ex players like him ... going back to a home team... like ours , and investing...then again all we have had is Butterfield and Stones... may as well look at the Chuckle Bros.

And the thing is he's not the best footballer in the world.... he's yet another over-rated player who is on obscene wages. Modern football makes me sick and it disillusions me.

    Erm, tha needs a new abacus, 300k x 52 = 15,600,000 x 6 years + 10% of fee (circa 85,000,000 = 8.5 mill) =102.000.000

Bale isn't a smart guy, he could have made more money moving to another club (Even an English one) as I heard he will have to pay about 50% in tax.

He will pay 51% tax on that, poor bugger. He is a good player, I think he'll do better at Real than he's done here. The money is obscene, I find it disgusting.

I thought the top income tax band was 52% in Spain. Should've gone to Monaco.

An example of Real Madrid improving their brand. It's not just about the player but the craze the signing creates. Madrid made back the £80 million they paid for Ronaldo in shirt sales.

I thought the beckham law had been extended, thought that was why Ronaldo stayed?

Would he not get the 24.75% rate?
