I complained that they were completly siding with chris morgan and sheffield united and cut off a barnsley fan who dared to argue with them, their reply? "the mocking banter and rivalry shouldn't be taken too seriously in this context".

The mocking banter of a man with a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain shouldn't be taken too seriously...

full reply (complaint was submitted in november) Thanks for your e-mail regarding Radio Sheffield. Please accept our apologies for the delay in replying. We know our correspondents appreciate a quick response and we're sorry you've had to wait on this occasion. We understand you feel that 'Football Heaven' is a biased and you object to the way the programme handled the incident involving Chris Morgan and Iain Hume. With such a programme, the presenters are looking to raise talking points to generate interest from the audience. This may involve playing devil's advocate to encourage more responses but I'm sorry if you felt the approach of the presenters was inappropriate. We do pro-actively research listener opinions about our presentation teams and programmes as well as monitoring complaints. If we receive only negative reaction and feedback then we would certainly look to address this. We appreciate that football rivalries raise strong feelings from all quarters - and this is really what's being reflected in this programme and the mocking banter and rivalry shouldn't be taken too seriously in this context. We'd now like to assure you that we've registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and also their senior management. It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC. The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content. Thanks again for taking the time to contact us with your concerns. Regards Gemma McAleer BBC Complaints
Two things re that.
Firstly note how they say they're sorry that you "feel" the comments were inappropriate, not that they're sorry that they were. Secondly how can they claim the station was engaging in rival banter when it's supposed to represent the South Yorkshire clubs equally? Isn't that a clear admission of SUFC bias?
Isn't there another body we can take this and other complaints to other than the BBC? They're obviously not going to admit to any faults.

Fecking despicable. I drowned some kittens earlier. I'm going to ring the owner in a minute and engage in some 'mocking banter.' Cnuts.
The stance taken by the BBC regarding the protection of Morgan should be taken up by Barnsley FC.... .............and not Barnsley fans Us Barnsley fans have tried our best to point out the bias shown by the BBC (Radio Sheffield) in their attempt to influence public opinion in a potential court case........its now over to the club
that is the most sensible thing you've said in months. if you also gave over condoning violence a few on here might take you a bit more seriously.
Sort of in the same way that the BBC didn't take Jonathon Ross and Russell Brand's "mocking banter" seriously - oh, hold on a minute!
And the same way that they need ONLY negative comments in order to investigate a program. Oh hang on, they got a few positive ones about ross too but still investigated and i'm pretty sure I saw of people writing in supporting Thatcher in the last week or so. That would be the incident that was investigated within hours while mine took from november to february to even get a reply saying it would not be investigated because sheffield united fans are happy with their coverage
Just to add to the 'banter', and Playing Devils advocate, reply The presenters particularly paul walker pride themselve on being objective etc, but to me they seem only to be objective, etc when it suits. Here's 2 examples in recent interviews. Jamie Ward stated that he didn't come to Barnsley as he didn't want be involved in a relegation fight, or words to that effect. Now my reaction to that as an interviewer would have been ' So therefore, if Barnsley had offered the terms that were favourable to you a fortnight ago, you would've rejected those terms. Instead, he was allowed to breeze through the interview. Secondly, Grinner Ryan Pikeys Chairman has come out of his bunker and spouted that there are very few good teams in this division and they are amongst the best, or words to that effect. Now my reply would've been 'then how come you've spent most of the season thus far, in a relegation spot. But again he was allowe to breeze through the interview. Biased t055ers the lot of them.
RE: full reply (complaint was submitted in november) Quick to act on Russell Brand and Jonothan Ross though with no complaints!!!!
