The best: Seeing GB win so many golds. Womens beach volleyball. The coverage. The worst: Drugs cheat representing GB. The altered version of the national anthem. The fact that half the stadiums will be ripped down or chopped in half after the games have finished.
The best: Watching great sporting competition The Worst: Sports where the Olympics are not the major prize (football, tennis)
agree with the latter post despite murray being delighted with winning gold, most people will be talking about wiggins, ennis, farrar, trott, etc & rightly so as regards football, nothing will change i'm sad to say ... no chance of a good national team unless the financial model changes
Best A very high percentage of female athletes/sport woman winning medals, wile still looking like women, Worst Empty seats at some events, when all the tickets had been sold
Best The amazing success we have made of hosting it - we proved we can really put on a show and London looked it's best for the world. The totalling enthrawling action - I've been hooked on many sports I normally wouldn't give a hoot about. The number of british golds and the overall success of team GB - and the obvious delight of everyone who achieved it. The number of genuine british role models to emerge from the games. It would be lovely to think that it heralded a genuine sea change in the attitude of the country towards who a real role model is and who is a vacuous 'sleb. The superb coverage from the BBC. Anyone who knocks it doesn't realise the sheer logistical task involved in what they have provided and its been great. Job very well done by all. Worst Can't think of too much - but : the cheating in the badminton was a low point. Team GB in the football - and the football in general being in the games - doesn't belong in them. And the way in which mark Sewotka shamefully tried to blackmail the country with the proposed strike the day before it started. Even he realised the extent to which he had misjudged the public mood, which then meant he had to crawl under a rock, the ******.
Best Watching Johnson-Thompson go round the bend in the 200 pentathlon. (in super slowmo) Ennis, Farrah, Wiggo. Worst Horse dancing, not a sport.
Best - the gold medals, opening ceremony, BBC coverage Worst - itv news, C5 news, C4 news... Trying to dig up every single negative story regarding the Olympics in the week leading up to the opening ceremony. Strikes, security etc... Set of cnuts the lot of them, would be the same if we had the world cup.
The best: Practically everything, but me for it would have to be Denise Lewis and the women's beach volleyball! The worst: The cheating in the badminton and the inexcusable sight of empty seats. Now it's time for Locog and the Government to deliver the promised legacy on which London & the country were granted the games in the first place.
