The best laptop around for £600 max??

    Mate of mine is after a laptop for home use. Needs a CD/RW and wireless capabilities.

    Anyone got any suggestions??

    Just got a Dell inspiron 510m which has a DVD built in wireless etc etc about 2 months ago and paid under £600 - no probs so far. Worth the extra £30 for the XGA screen

    Sony Vaio do one about that price, and the build quality is superb.

    go for reliability with a laptop either sony toshiba or dell, I went for the best spec and lets just say it was a waste of time.

    Totally agree. I had 2 cheapos against my mates one Sony.
