For me was that we played a team who are on a shocking run of form, sliding down the league and seemingly in crisis........and we won. How often do teams turn up in that kind of a mess at Oakwell and turn us over. How many winless runs have we ended over the years? Hull most recently. It was a game that we should win and we actually did.
Hard to overcome a thousand years of being that kind of a team... so yes, it made a nice change yesterday, thought we were nailed on to lose yesterday.
The last 3 fixtures have all been similar. Going on previous meetings it would be goalless draw at Burton and defeats against Wednesday and Birmingham and we'd have been 6 points worse off and down near the bottom. It's been a great week, yet some people still want to nit pick.
Our record away to Birmingham has been very good recently.... 3-0 last season, 5-0 in 2012, 1-1 in 2011. Can't remember too many more. But yes, great to beat the sides down below us, keeps a nice distance to the drop zone and shows we can realise our potential more readily.
Too bloody many. I remember a game back in the 80s against Cambridge United who were bottom of the league, almost relegated and hadn't won an away game all season (there were only a couple of games left). Beat us 2-0 of course.
We're probably no different to lots of clubs fans in thinking that it's only us that is cursed with these habits.
