So the digital switch-over happened yesterday in Barnsley and we all had to re-tune our set top boxes. Fine, apart from now I get the wrong BBC 1. Instead of Christa Ackroyd and Harry Gration waffling on about Leeds on Look North, I got some other bloke concerned with East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Apparently some tractor got stuck in a ditch. Riveting stuff. I may have got the wrong ITV too, I duuno I haven't watched Calendar.

Tried retuning a couple more times but the results were still the same.

Anyone else with the same problem?

    OK - I'm not a technician but....

It sounds like your tuner has latched on to the Belmont transmitter instead of Emley Moor. Belmont serves the east of the region, and provides an opt out service from Look North, to carry news about tractor incidents in deepest Lincolnshire.

A lot of people in Barnsley area get stronger signals from Belmont than from Emley. Dunno where you live, but Elsecar and Worsbrough areas I believe tend to get a stronger Belmont signal.

I would wait until phase two of the switchover next week, when Emley pumps up the volume a bit. Your retune might pick it back up. If not then I would suggest you perform a manual retune.

Didn't realise you could pick up a Belmont signal in Barnsley

That thing is just outside Louth, bloody miles away.

I'll do as you suggest and wait for the next stage of the switch over. Hope that works as I'm not looking forward to a manual tune if it comes to that.

We have only ever been able to get the Lincolnshire/ Hull Look North for years.
Ok if you want bulletins on Hull Drug wars, crack dens & prostitutes, plus motorcycling accidents across Lincolnshire, and a man with a 1990s gelled haircut presenting it. Otherwise not much use.

take a look through all the channels matey

I had the same thing down here in Wales, it had put the south west ITV etc, which told us nowt of local news, but when we glanced through the entire list way down in the 800's was the Taff channels, then it was just a simple re-listing on the favorite section.A similar thing may have happened to you too up there.
