I know it's human nature to find blame with anything in life but I think in our case I honestly can't find anybody to hang out to dry.It can't be any coinsidence that we've struggled every season since we came back up in 2006.At the end of the day we are what we are.Money in the upper echelons of football have caught us up.I know there has been exceptions over the years but look at the table tonight and I would guess the bottom four have the worse budgets in our league.I heard some one today blaming Cryne, in my opinion what more can he have done to improve things because I don't know.Since we got promoted we haven't had a manager who met the criteria to please all the fans but they've all done there best with the mandates they were given.Davey no one wanted because seen as the cheap option but looking back now three seasons he kept us up and Wembley thrown in for good measure,do I blame him?no.Mark Robin came in and we had a fairly steady season eventually but he wouldn't agree to a lower budget regarding loanees(not my view but the opinion of the board) so he left,do I blame him no.Now the man who some fans loved to hate Mr Hill.He came in with a mandate to reduce the amount of money spent on loanees,to develop players and bring players in who we could hopefully get a return on which he did to a degree.Do I blame him?no.Then Flitcroft love him or hate him what he achieved last season was nothing short of a miracle and will go down in the annuls of the clubs history I've never seen a club more galvanized under his leadership and he deserved all the plaudits that most fans gave him. This season things didn't go the way he wanted as manager or for us as fans and he rightly was moved on,that's the nature of the game.Do I blame him? no.Now we have Danny who by and by was a popular choice. It was going to be hard but on paper it wasn't unsumountable. We waited for the "new manager effect"and it hasn't and is unlikely to do so now.Do I blame him? again the answer is no and I hope he is given the chance to bring us back if the unthinkable happens.I 'I've tried to be reasonable with my views on each season we've been up but like I said at the start I think the money game as finally got to us.
just makes me wonder if robins had been given a bit of money would we have been a bit more stable. How much has it cost to sack hill and flitcroft, then how much money was wasted allowing them to bring the likes of fcukin mido in,for a club without money the board havnt half wasted some.
Good post and largely fair ,but my argument would be t where we are doesn't or shouldn't stop you earning your money. If a team are superior and turn us over with sheer quality I'll acknowledge this but when I see certain players as gutless and spineless I will say so
For me the blame lies solely with players who go on to the pitch and hide as they are terrified to make mistakes, that then comes back on the management who are there to get the players ready for each game so does that then lead back to the management as to where the blame lies???
If the FPP thing was introduced and implemented properly and policed properly , then and only then we may have a more level playing field as it were. But I predict that it will be paid lip service from the money men. It could mean the billionaires who treat the game like a computer game would walk away... that would make the whole thing disappear up its own arse. We are virtually stuck with football in its present form, and I mean that WORLWIDE.... the rotten to the core form.
