The Butterfield debacle must be the worst case senario for Barnsley

    Firstly he dosent sign for Barnsley

    And secondly, the transfer fee goes to tribunal............which makes it impossible for the directors to know how much money they are likely to receive which would go towards bringing in new players

    This just shows that a young player can have time and money spent on him to develop him as a player only for that player to cause confussion when he decides to leave. And this is no fault of Butterfield, its the fault of the system that operates at the moment

    A lesson to be learnt (again) by the club directors and management team..........especially with regard to the talent that is coming through the club at the moment e.g. Digby, Rose et al
    Young players and talented players should not be allowed to run their contract out...........either sign an extention / sold with a year left on their contract / if they dont sign then they need to have time sat in the dressing, no matter how good they are

    Hill said a few weeks back that the Butterfield situation had no impact on his transfer budget.
