Am I right in saying this was supposed to be used to offset a fall in TV revenue in the 2012/13 season? If so, what was the Vaz Te money intended to offset, and what are we planning to offset with Davies, Stones and cup run money? We cannot possibly have been losing money as the Berk mentioned once or twice how small the budget was so what losses are we expecting??
Vaz Te = Tonge/Smith/Dawson/Golbourne Butterfield = reduction in TV Money Davies/Stones = Scotland/O'Grady/Jennings/contract renewals/St George's Park etc etc.
Add on to that the wages for Greening, Buzz and the other loanees who rode in to save the day. That put the club in the red as regards the playing budget. Don said as much. 2.5m was cleared from the the cup run and Stones transfer by the end of the season. Don said that too. Oh to be a fly on Conan's wall.
Keeping our best players and signing some new ones, one of whom put a massive shift into our survival. No, not wisely at all. What were we thinking?
By common consent Tonge/Smith weren't successes, Dawson is going backwards, Golbourne possibly one of the most overrated players we,ve had in a while, good comedy value for hair styles, Davies came and went Dagnall SHOULD have come and gone sharper, Scotland will be more and more of a bit part player, then there's the numerous players brought in to the developement thingy. So no I say again money not spent wisely.
