Is it up for grabs now that Souza & Nyatanga are here? I dont think Brian Howard gets involved enough, yes he's vocal but you need more than that. I thought Andy Johnson would be ideal for the job or did BH step up in Bobby's absence?

When Bri was captain he was trying to calm the team down, get them to keep the ball on the floor and he got results.

    Howard doesn't get involved enough?

We play most of our game through him, I don't understand what you mean.

Will spend a lot of time on the bench this season...

Unless Nayatanga and Sousa get injured...

Not Knocking Souza Because He's Done Well But......

Reid got us out of league one and helped us stay in the championship as the club captain. Souza played well in half a match against a division seven team, against a division four team and ok against a premiership team. He's a long way to go before he deserves his place over Reidy I feel.

AGREE 100%....alot of narrow minded people on here will be biggind him up way too early he aint played a competitive game yet for us imo reid cannot be dropped and he deserves a chance with a couple of decent FB's.
I like the first impression of souza but not sure hes gunna be as good as a few people are making him out to be, but a decent squad player for now

    I disagree....

We stayed in the league despite Reid, it was only when Nayatanga came in late on and some solid performances from Hassell at CH...

Reid was often found wanting against a big striker and got bullied, and you could turn a bus around quicker.

Remember he was an integral part of the weakest defence in the league last year, and played in most of the games.

On the other hand Souza has played 3 games and I thought he was the MOTM at Rotherham. He's come from a completely different style of football and settled in quite well... Give him 10 to 15 games and he'll be an ever present.

Don't get me wrong, I think Reidy has done a good job for us over the last few seasons he's been captain, but if it were me, I would give the armband to Hassell. I thought when Howard had it he stepped up his game alot more but I think Hassell would be a good choice.

    Hassell I Agree.........

although would it lower his game the extra responsibility? Probably not. I would be happy with him just being back in full training and taking part in a match.

    Will Hassell even play?

I'd have him in at RB with Kozluk at LB but not sure that will happen...

Reid is too slow, injury prone and only put to centre half because of his height, he played his best for us when ne first came as a midfield player sat in front of the back four
