to Rob Statons; it says when asked if Hill was one of the clubs interested in O'Grady, Hills said he knows him very well and is the calibre of player we would like to bring to the club, BUT...
We hoped to sign him at the end of this season when his contract had expired. Doesn't sound like we were outbid by Wednedsay on reading that, maybe just Rob Staton over exaggerating again, like the Sheffield United promotion comment from the weekend.

TBH Archey, that's exactly how I read it when I listened to Hill's interview. In no way was it suggested that we had made a bid - interested, yes, but bid no.
I think that Staton made more of it and used it as a bit of 'one upmanship'.
He recently commented on his wife eating pies at Hillsborough which made me think that perhaps they follow Weds and that he could use Hill's comments to 'big up'the Fowls over Barnsley.
Having said that, his interview with Hill is first rate and very professional. He is by far the best of thecurrent DeeDar presenters as long as he can remain unbiased.

And that is what Hill said on Radio Sheffield last night
