Yeah it’s disgusting the whole lot to be honest. Like they don’t charge enough to go in, then they completely rip you off for food and drink in the ground. All just profit, profit, profit. (To help negate the huge losses from paying footballers far too much).

Makes me sick to be honest.

No one is forcing anyone to buy food and drink in the stadium. Pop corn is 9 quid at Disney on Ice, lets have a go at that instead!

Why is anyone buying food inside a stadium just have something before you go to ground . Wouldn’t mind but food is horrible anyway .

Saying "no one is forcing anyone to buy".. can be a bit of a smack in the face to those who perhaps aren't too well off though..I know you're not intending it in that way BTW.

I think the general concern is that nobody would mind if it was reasonably priced. Say to cover costs of purchasing food and drink, covering the catering wages and a nominal profit on top.

But these days, it's just extortion. And some of the "Scran" you see online is tantamount obscene. I saw one at the weekend, which was supposed to be cheesy chips. Made up of no doubt Tesco frozen chips and a no frills cheese slice on top (not even melted) for 9 chuffing quid.

It should be part of the fan experience, and clubs in the football league would do well to take note of non league clubs and charging policies they apply

The Premier League is beyond obscene, and has very little to do with football in the traditional sense. While I want to see BFC playing as high as possible, I can't say I'd particularly enjoy seeing us back there.

I’ve never understood why people pay to watch a match and then miss some of it because they would rather queue for food and drink before kick off or at half time.

Good or bad I want to see every minute played out on the pitch. You never know - that big roar you hear above your head might be celebrating a goal like Darren Barnard’s against Huddersfield or Scottie Jones powering a header in off the bar against Man Utd. Would you really want to miss that kind of exhilaration for the sake of a beer or burger under the stands?

I try to avoid it, but very often I park up on Doncaster Road and I'm then running into Oakwell, starving, at 2.55 . The queue at the burger van at the bottom of the car park is often still pretty long at that time. I'll be honest the pizza roll things aren't bad, but everything else in the Ponty is pretty crap. I was delighted when they realised that a lot of people actually want to drink decent beer and added some options from Salt (even though I hardly ever drink myself at a match!). However, if there's a market for craft ale inside the ground then it follows that enough people would also be up for buying some slightly more imaginative food than what's currently on offer. I've got wind of some decent stuff being available in the East Stand now. Not quite sure why us Ponty Enders aren't considered worthy (despite being trusted with excellent beer!)

Well if @Chef Tyke , @Tyketical Masterstroke and @Terry Nutkins are anything to go by, you probably have a point. Riffraff of the highest order, and definitely not capable of handling a flatbread with hummus and olives.

Me neither but at Farnham Town you don't need to miss any of the match, for a start you can get your food/Drink before Kick off or at half time and the queues are short enough not to miss anything. You can in any case see the pitch from the food and drink outlets if you did want to purchase whilst the game is in progress Oh and you can take your food and drink to your seat / Standing place as well ( that one is out of control of the league clubs). The quality is good too
Ive also never understood those who leave before the final whistle especially if the game is close, maybe at 4-0 down I could understand but the number that leave when sides are level or there is one goal in it I just dont get at all

I know what you mean and I’ve been at a few non league grounds in my time where staff and customers can see the field of play even when it’s busy.

I’ve left a few minutes early a couple of times where it’s freezing cold/quality is rubbish /result a foregone conclusion but there are people near me in the ESL who leave around the 80th minute every match.

At Wembley there was a break in play about 30 minutes in. People went streaming out to get food. I was in the standing/singing bit and four people from the row in front came back with chicken and chips. How are you going to sing with a gob full of chicken. Proper weirdo behaviour.

Exactly. Two teams at the top of the Premier League full of household names or Farnham. It might as well be a different sport.
Its like comparing my Peugeot 107 and a Ferrari and saying they are the same because you can drive them from one place to another.

    why would they?

stood next to the pitch, saying hello to the manager and chairman pre match, talking to the players after a match, being part of the club and feeling valued just for turning up… yeah right boring that

if I’ve missed an obvious joke about Farnham itself I apologise!

Went to Emley on Saturday, £6 in, £3 for a pint can, and there was a sending off after 7 seconds.

That sounds brilliant value, even if nothing else happened for the next 89 minutes.

That nearly happened to us in that FA Cup tie at Bramall Lane. I think it was John Deehan who flattened a United player on the half way line right at the kick off. I forget who it was - obviously some score settling going on. Deehan should have been sent off but the ref was either too shocked to do anything about it or just didn't see it
