has got to be right. Thatcher era was the start, but then Labour continued the 'I want' ...'spend what you haven't got' ethos. Now people will feel the pinch and all throw their teedies out of the prams!

Any economic system that allows greed to be the main factor in it's reign is ultimately doomed to extinction. It might also take the planet along with it.

Thatcher was part of that system, but perhaps what should be asked is, "Are we controlling the system or is the system controlling us?"

You don't need to believe in global warming to see what a flipping mess we're making of a once beautiful planet.

Who knows what will happen, but if future generations are around long enough to look back on this one, they might shake their heads and wonder how we became so distracted as to amuse ourselves to death.

"if future generations are around long enough to look back on this one, they might shake their heads and wonder how we became so distracted as to amuse ourselves to death."

How does that work then? We are killing the planet, so we continue to do it and future generations wonder what we were doing!

Wouldn't that mean we haven't killed it?

I agree the planet is being changed by humans

but taxing me more on fuel and turning my washer down to 30 and getting double glazing is not going to stop anything. The problem is there are too many people.

We need to reduce the population by 3 billion.
