    A tad unfair?

I thought he was absolutely superb on Saturday, and again in the first half today he won absolutely everything in the air and won a couple of crunching challenges.

Second half he wasn't really at fault for either goal for me. The first was very lucky and the second a superb strike from the best player at Oakwell this season.

Hassell should have played, but I don't think Reid particularly did anything wrong today.

Kay was awful though, panics, doesn't clear his lines.

I think the whole team started to panic for a 10-15 minute spell that ultimately cost us 2 points. I can't fault anyone for effort, but we lost our shape as peopel chased the ball in an obvious attempt to hang on to our lead.

    To be honest

Freddy Eastwood was the difference and in the 2nd half i didn't think they created much, scored from a scuffed shot and then FE scored something out of nothing!

Reid was superb yesterday i thought!

Thought Reid was poor. Weak headed clearances and the tendancy to back off.

    he had a good first half. . .. .

where he won everything and and poorer second half.

dunt think he was at fault for any of the goals though.

    Lost the ball too often..

for me. i commented when he lost the ball (he tried to play it out of defence when he should have got rid in the position he was in) that it was gonna lead to a goal. It did. He also backed off far too much when their attackers ran at him.
Note Kay no longer faffs about with the ball, he gets rid when he needs to and Ozzy doesnt back off he gets a foot in straight away. Our two local lads are better defenders than the so called skipper. Which leads to another point, should he be captain. You never hear him bark orders and when we were under pressure it wasnt him who made the defence more solid it was Bobby Hassell. For me he is a weak link. He gets found out when we play against top strikers in this league and he wouldnt cut it in a league above.

re; 2 local lads being better than Reid!!

Wake up, both Kay and Austin are far far inferior to Paul Reid, without him we wouldn't be where we are in the league. At Oldham on Saturday he was immense. He won everything both on the ground and in the air. Austin again was poor on Monday along with Heckingbottom, if we do manage to go up then we need 2 new fullbacks ASAP as there distribution is appalling, both of them were at fault a countless number of times for giving the ball away. Kay is a good centre half if he doesn't try to play football, if he just wins the ball and gets rid he is a great partner for Reid, he comes unstuck when he has time on the ball and starts to think he can play.
I think Reid cam unstuck on Saturday as he was continuously covering for Austin although didn't think he had too bad a game. Get hassle in at right back for the remainder of the season and I think will be ok.

Kay still likes to have his 15 mins of panic whenever the ball is at his feet.

Ozzie, our most improved player this season

his tacling is better, his temperament is more controlled, his biggest weakness is his pace, cost us 2 goals at Port Vale, looked shakey at Hudders, when he pushes up and attackers run at him he invariably gets left trailing behind

Whilst he might be the most improved,

he doesnt hold a light to Hassell.

Austin has had a good season

generally consistent. Poorest game he has had yesterday. Dont know about Reid having to cover for Ozzy, but agree about Hecky being out of position too often. Reid has good distribution but the amount of times he stumbled on the ball or failed to clear when it needs a good punt shows to me he aint good enough. His communication aint too clever neither as he nearly knocked th ball out of Colgans hands. Is that a skipper? I'd bring Hassell in at centre back
