which areas and which players do you think need strengthnening?

left back and centre half position perhaps?

Has the Shane Ferguson link been denied? left back at Newcastle.

I also notice Mark Beevers is available at SWFC and Ipswich Town have today released Ivar Ingarmarsson.

for a left back ive always rated Joe Mattock lost track of were he is now tho but surely hed come for a fair price.

Id love Beevers here been a tarn lad n all tht but is he up to Championship Football? not really shone at the Division 1 clubs hes been at of yet maybe Keef can get the best out of him who knows, and as for Ingarmarsson i liked him when reading was in prem but since then hes gone of boil if we get him itd be the same as moore a good player in his day but we would be seeing the worst of him.

Not saying we will sign any of them but suggesting are they the type of player we need right now?

Yes but that was said by Keef before we signed Addison Drinkwater and Dagnall.

When it comes to transfers.........take Dons comments with a pinch of salt

........end of last season didn't he say something on the lines that we would be getting 3 or 4 players in because the team is basically there
And how many have we had in since that time ??? !!!
i couldn't tell you myself because I've lost count.

    We're short in most areas

At left back McEveley has had some decent games, but he's very inconsistent and he's had some stinkers too and cost us points. There's little or no competition for his place when his cover is at centre half.

McNulty is having a very difficult time of it at centre half at the moment. In my opinion he needs some time out to get his confidence back because he's costing us goals on a regular basis. We've got Edwards as cover but Hill doesn't seem to rate him. He brought Edwards back in to the side recently but dropped him again just as quickly.

Maybe McNulty can be the left back we need in which case we need another centre half.

Butterfield is going to be a real loss, I've no idea how we can replace him on our budget, but we need some creativity in midfield.

Addison is only here for a month, so we either sign him up for the rest of the season, which a lot of people don't seem to want, or we get someone else in.

Hill plays with two wide men supporting the striker but we've no cover for Vaz Te or O'Brien. Wiseman and Done have both been used in this role but neither have made much of an impression. Wiseman did OK against Leeds, but looked lost at Donny. Done has had a couple of good games playing behind the striker but plenty more when he has been anonymous, particularly when out wide.

So ideally: maybe a left back, definitely a centre half, a defensive midfield player if Addison goes back, a creative midfield player and a winger.

But if we can't afford anyone, we can't afford anyone and we go with what we've got.

What the Don says and what Keith Hill says are two completely different things from the recent interviews l've listened to. I'll wait for Keith to speak.

Yeah same here. Plus if we are only bringing in two more players i'd be very worried for the rest of the season. All two more will do is replace Doyle and Haynes both getting ready to leave. We need a left back and a centre half. Could do with a winger as well because we only really have JOB and since he's been out we've had no width.

I agree with several points in Jays post above, especially McNulty, l'd have him at full back and put Edwards & Foster in at centre half, Sir Bobby at right back. He needs to tighten the defence up quick, we've conceded 12 goals in the last 5 games in the league. A new defender would freshen things up, we also need a replacement for Butterfield to give Perkins a rest.

Hassell made a few mistakes on saturday. He let Nathan Dyer run at him for one of there goals. Rubbish defending. Wiseman should start and also Keith Hill said 5 in's. 2 loans, 3 permo's

On saturday though i'd say only Vaz Te, Drinkwater and Davies played well.

Wiseman? I'd rather have David Currie defending, was he the one missing for Swansea's fourth? terrible defender & average going forward, good job he's got a bit of pace.

    I don't think Vazte played well DB3K.
scored a great goal but didn't play well.
Thought that in first half when played in middle it was the worst i've seen him play.l

I couldn't believe our manager blamed our two goal striker for the defence not being clued up for the 4th. Vaz Te looked sharp, Drinkwater played like he'd missed no match time, and Davies did himself proud considering he won't have played against a mid table prem side before.

He gave the ball away DB3K. Fact
HE shouldn't be trying to turn there. There was 2/3 easy passes on. Play it easy in twi thirds of pitch. In final third try the fancy stuff.

Re: We're short in most areas

It's clutching at straws for the manager to blame a two goal striker for us conceeding a goal. Lets start blaming Foster and Mcnulty as they aren't scoring enough for my liking. Hill should have been blaming was it Perkins (???) who played a square pass across his own box for their equaliser 1 min after we scored, when the ball should have been booted up the field to clear our lines.

Dean Lewington, son of Ray. Still there, never been anywhere else, captain.
