What with a meteorite due to hit us a few days before Xmas in 2032 and the Orange one determined to make sure we don't see that day, we now have 3 out of 4 of the favourites for the next Pope are called Peter. Doomed.
I wouldn't worry. The Prophecy of the Popes describes it as the downfall of Rome. Worth a cheeky fiver that that's where the meteorite hits? Just don't spend Christmas 2032 in Italy. As for Captain Tango. That's a different matter.
Err no I don't think I have actually lol. But I have been to Cass, and Ponty, and Feth, and Leeds, ohh and Middlesbrough too.
I was reading about 2024 YR 4 the other day. Probability of collision has now gone up to 3.1%. I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about this tbh. In space terms, 3.1% is incredibly high.
As I understand it, the impact force is likely similar to a nuke so it's not an existential threat, and most of its impact path lies over the sea. There's no need for Bruce Willis to go up in the space shuttle.
It's estimated as 7.8 megatonnes. The largest nuclear weapon ever tested was 50+. It's really not anything to lose sleep over. It would obliterate a small area, but: That area would likely be at sea; If it were on land it would most likely be sparsely populated (if at all) and; We would know where it would be hitting so could evacuate people as necessary.
Hopefully Trump won't be President by then-unless he changes the rules: 'There is no meteor. I made sure all the meteors in space were safe. Biden caused the meteor. I stopped it. There was a lot of danger until I stopped it let me tell you. It was a very beautiful stop when I stopped it. Very beautiful.'
Odds now reduced to 1.5% https://www.newscientist.com/articl...-yr4-hitting-earth-in-2032-have-fallen-again/
