    RIP MR RICHARD BRIERS.

Unfortunatley hes the first of a long list of great comedy actors of my generation that are getting older and older.

A very sad day for British Comedy acting

Very under-rated actor. For those of us of a certain age he will always be the voice of Roobarb & Custard!! :D

Totally forgot about that. An absolutely surreal kids programme.

Very sad. Every time we lose someone like that it reminds me of how England is losing it's Englishness.

I'm glad someone mentioned Roobarb and Custard - one of my favourites growing up. They don't make em like that any more!

He also did the voice of Fiver in Watership Down. Another classic of a 1970's childhood. We had all the best stuff!

Fortunately Dad chose VHS unlike some who opted for Betamax. Bright eyes burning like fire.

Like Ray Bennett. He had a proper porn collection on betamax though.

1970's/80's Summer holiday morning kids TV was the best! Healthy dose of Roobarb, Banana Splits, Double Deckers (brilliant), Lone Ranger and/or Champion the Wonderhorse and the essentially subversive Why Don't You? (a programme that encouraged you not to watch telly and do something more constructive!)

Marvellous stuff. Then on with the anorak and wellies, grab the Jack Russell and out to terrorise the estate until tea-time! Happy, happy days. :)
