Looks a right mess. Bit embarrassing really. Broken glass that's been there for as long as anyone can remember, years worth of paint flaking off and a general don't give a ****. It's not character or traditional, it just looks crap. Really doesn't look like a stadium belonging to a second tier club in the 21st century.

No idea where you got that idea from. I'm just saying it needs tidying up.

Maybe Dyson can try and get me banned for saying it though.

Tbf it does need a lick of paint. Even the letters have fallen off now, and the sign reads Barnsley Football Cl

Moan moan moan. Leave it alone, we like it. Me & Dyson are getting married in their sometime this season. The rest of the ground needs modernising to match the West Stand.

With hourly updates and additional moans. This question was already put to Ben Mansford and answered quite clearly at the season ticketers forum, Conan clearly didn't attend or watch the player video.

I actually agree. I love the West Stand, but it looks unloved. It looks as though it got missed out in the making of a modern ground, whereas as it's here to stay we should make a feature of its history. The roof looks battered and a lick of paint would spruce it up no end so that it looks like we're proud of it

I had that thought independently at the open day seeing the ground through my kids' eyes- not often I agree with Conan!

Needs tarting up a bit. Building a new west stand is not a priority, and we haven't got the money, so why not keep maintaining the one we've got. Obviously, we don't want to throw loads of money at it, but keeping it looking cosmetically OK shouldn't cause a problem.

Of course it could do with a revamp, it's just a knee jerk reaction to argue with everything Trotter says. Because he's just sickeningly positive all the time!! :D

I wouldn't clad it though as some have suggested. I'd go for a cost effective restoration and celebrate it until the time comes to build a new one.

All the ground needs a tidy up, old signs still up in the East Stand with the Admiral painted over etc.

For a start, I didn't try to get you banned. You might call it me being a bit of a lovely person and taking the piss.

And I agree. It'd be cracking if we restored it to it's former glory. Re-do the walls red, paint the gates, the corrugated iron redone black a d 'Oakwell Ales' painted back on too. No bother with that.

I said the other day it's 1 of the worst stands in the country, only to be told stands in the Blue Square Prem are in worse condition.

I can't think of many other grounds in the country where you have to piss on a mouldy brick wsll.

If any funds, such as the John Stones transfer fee were diverted to the rebuilding of the West Stand, folk would moan that it wasn't spent on strengthening the team.

We don't need a new stand as there is plenty of room. But in time, and not too far from now... how about renovating it to it's former "glory".

A restoration stripping away the grime and dirt and decay and keeping it as a nod to the past and where we came from. You see many a development of old warehouses and industrial buildings that have been modernised but kept their character and many a sign and typeset taking on a retro element.

Was it you that started a thread about it last week saying we need a new one?

    If not i do apologise.

I'm biased, I love it as is. But if it looked exactly like the East Stand we'd have the best looking stadium in the region, easily.

But as I say, I like it already. It reeks of history (and piss). My seat is over 100 years old. I've got the best view of Oakwell from that seat. It's usually those who sit opposite in the morgue stand, or those in the Ponty who whinge about it looking *****. So it's simple really, sit int West then tha dunt need to see it.

The lower tier is fine. Agree needs a make over if we want to look professional. Flicker goes on about player entrances etc but first thing everyone sees is the layers of peeling paint and decay of the West Stand.

If can replace top tier and roof that's fine. No point uprooting lower tier
