I want to know why the FA allowed us and Hull to play 2 games in the space of 3 days however, if you're in the Premiership and your game is televised for the Monday they never play on the Saturday before? Could fatigue have anything to do with our lack luster performance last night?
1. It's nowt to do with the FA, it's the FL 2. Premier league clubs have played Saturday and Monday, quite often. 3. Why didn't Hull look tired then? 4. The real question to direct to them is why Blackpool have been allowed to cancel their Saturday game prior to playing us on the Monday - still awaiting a reply to my email on that.
Re: Blackpool Blackpool were down to play at Cardiff on the friday night. There must be somat on in cardiff on saturday (rugby??) As both cardiff and Blackpool are in the carling cup on wednesday night (FL told them they had to play that date) the game on friday had to be postponed. If a game finishes within 48 hours of another game starting, the second game can be postponed is the rule I believe. As we finished on saturday before 5pm and Monday's game started at 7.45pm no postponement option available. As Blackpools game in cup finishes at 9.45pm on wednesday there is not 48 hours before the start of the game against cardiff (unless you can get them to kick off at 10pm)
Comes down to more than fatigue I'm afraid. Non of the players should really use that as an excuse, especially after a 2 week break. It is still early in the season so tiredness shouldn't be an issue.
Re: Blackpool I thought they'd moved the Cardiff game to Friday because of playing Monday, I'm aware of the 48 hour rule which is why they should be told to move it back to Saturday.
I dont accept that as an excuse we cant harp on about competition for places and having a stronger squad but then hide behind tiredness when we dont make changes, and Davey hasnt mentioned that at all in his post match interview. Maybe a few are showing signs of tiredness, even after a 2 week break, and if the manager has spotted that, which Im sure he has, he has other players at his disposal, or so we think. The worst player on the pitch last night was De Silva and he hadnt played for over 2 weeks. Cant be fatigue, hoping it was just an off day and not the cold.
I don't either However the Anderson comment is a little wide of the mark.
I'd have him behind Werling, Souza, Nyatanga, McCann, Odejayi, Mostto, and even Howard who were all completely off the boil.
I'm sorry but Werling doesn't even look like a football player imho.

RE: I don't either De Silva's passing was awful, he gave the ball away countless times in his own half, his tackling was half hearted and he looked very much like he didnt want to be there. Souza was at fault to some degree for all 3 goals, but his commitment was not in question. If I was going to make a change for Saturday based on last night, I'd put Togwell in alongside Howard, and when JCR gets tired, bring De Silva on.
I partly argree Werling looks utter crap defending. My Dad watched the game last night - first time he has seen us this season - said time and time again about how easily WErling was getting wrong footed when trying to defend, he was getting turned far too easily. Then again, he offered so much more going forward than McCann ever will.
Crap defender, but looks like he could be a decent left sided midfielder, can put a decent cross in, as isn't afraid to take people on
