arrogant t@sser who blames everyone but himself................ another fact is that if we aint got no cash (which he must have known beforehand) then he shouldn't have taken the job if he wern't happy about it. His interviews are just his window to have a pop at the fans who were here long before him and will be here long after he has gone to manage Barcelona (in his head anyway). I actually don't mind arrogance if that person can deliver (e.g. The Special One etc) but this clown is a lower league manager making out he is a special one too. Ffs Hill, have some humility and if you really don't like us (the fans who pay your nice wages)...fook off. Having said all that, if he does turn out to be another Jose in the making, i will apologise profusely but somehow i doubt it. At the moment he is just coming across as a spoilt tw@t. Thereev........the voice of reason.
To be fair I can see his point of view, 3 matches in and was getting an unbelievable amount of grief, people need a big dose of reality when it comes across to Barnsley's situation and he is trying to make that clear. He could probably do it in a different way but maybe he's doing it so the negativity is aimed at him rather than his players?! Either way this negativity is no good for anyone, maybe the fans need to reflect on thier own performance as fans and turn Oakwell from a library into something resembling an atmosphere. You might say the performances aren't good enough and i'd agree from what I saw at the Morecombe match, but it's a bit of a chicken and the egg scenario imo. Either way there is nothing to gain by sitting there moaning, booing or shouting "ger it forard" after 20 mins, or hating on Keith Hill as there is no alternative, and in my opinion his ethos what he is trying to install and approach to youth and lower league players is realistically Barnsley's last hope at the minute.
he is not our last hope whatsoever............he has stepped up a league from Rochdale and he should realise........plenty of other managers would have taken the job............. i hear Simon Davey would like to return!!!
No he isn't, he is trying to do his job in almost impossible circumstances and all he is getting is negativity from some fans. He has every right to say what he is saying and to be fair to him it's not lies he is telling - he is giving some fans a reality check and they don't like it. What has he said that is so wrong?
A question of credibility - who has more? A manager that has achieved something, albeit at a lower league level. Or couple of extremely vocal poster on here who have a reputation of being extremely negative and have achieved.............................................. Everyone has right to an opinion but that does not make them right. Time will tell if Hill is a successful manager. Lets give him a chance and get off his back.
How many seasons of untold success has old Keith had then? You know the manager who now thinks we are destined to go down, without his divine intervention?
Whenever has Barnsley had a manager with a record of untold success? I think Bassett may have been able to claim this - but most or our managers have never had any sort of success to talk about. I think that without the intervention of any manager Barnsley have to be considered likely to go down. That is inevitable on the size of our income but we defy the odds and that is why it is so great supporting Barnsley. In this day an age where money talks we are punching above our weight just staying in this division. Just look at some of the teams that have gone down. Enjoy us in this league but we cant have the delusion that we have a right to be here.
No wonder we seem to struggle every year what the F is going on we are supporters of Barnsley Keith Hill is part of Barnsley we should support him i dont care what he says in the press i just care what he does on the pitch and we have just had two away games picking up 4 points which is for us unthinkable. Some fans really wind me up your stright their to show your frustration when things are going wrong but you can never bring yourselfs to give credit where credit is due. Im telling you some people wont be happy untill Hill is sacked and we will be back at square 1 were i honestly dont want to be again. Come on boys i urge you to get behind Keith and the boys.
Whenever a poster starts with something like "The facts are", I know that the posters opinion about something will follow. It is not a fact, and what is more, I do not agree with your opinion. Perhaps you need to try to acquire a thicker skin. I have been a supporter for 45 years and have not been offended by anything Mr Hill has said. He has even stopped referring to his own past successes (at Rochdale), so you can hardly fault him when he asks supporters to stop referring to the past successes of the football club. And by the way, almost everything that he says is said because he wants to improve the team, and for that purpose only. His utterances are also not facts. Neither will they remain his opinions for long. They are the ingenuous ramblings of a football manager.
a lot of what he said today inspired me.. he knows what worked, and where WORK is still needed.. he also spoke well with regards to the Haynes rumours.. he must have felt like slapping Giddings, i know i did.. roll on deadline day.. but he does need to improve his PR skills a tad.. im in love with the guy tbh, im convinced we are in good hands.. couldnt say that about the last few incumbents.. BUT, its a little boring now, the continual reference to "peoples expectations" im a Barnsley fan, im quite aware of our limits, and the hundreds of tarn fans i know are too.. we know, and accept that Patrick has stopped funding the club.. we know we have to sell.. we know we are over-achieving etc.. BUT we dont need reminding every 5 mins, taking the shine, and spotlight away from another great result.. im at a loss as to who the "people" he continually refers to are?? surely he cant be talking about the few hundred reds fans who either booed at Oakwell, or spend their time on msg boards constantly finding fault (kahtorse, thereev etc)?? that would be rather pathetic if he is.. using that logic, it would make more sense for him to refer to the vast majority who understand where we are going etc.. so who knows why he's doing it.. i agree with the 'us and them' strategy. but the us bit, should include club, management, squad and fans. all against the rest.. he preached about Team Barnsley. we are in it together etc. so why create an evil version of that motto thats not there? and if it is there, its just a mindless minority.. i hear some folk saying he is doing it as he wants out!? i dont get that.. he could just walk out if thats how he felt.. although, if come the Leicester game and we are struggling again which is highly probable, and the nellies start again with the jeering and negative atmosphere, i wouldnt blame him if he DID walk.. so i implore the nellies to plz stay away if ur going to boo our squad (about £2M to put together) against a squad containing Matt Mills (£4.5M on his own).. lets do what i said in my blog last week.. lets sing our hearts out nemind the score.. lets encourage a player that slips up.. lets create an atmosphere to be proud of, and see where it takes us.. if at the end we are just as gash as the 3 previous home games, then at least we have done our bit.. and Hillcroft would have to look within a little, and have nothing to beat us over the head with.. just an idea like. U REDS!
What I don't get is that he talks of pressure being put on players at home by fans but HE is adding to the pressure by his constant carping at fans, what he thinks fans expectations are etc. It would be great if against Leicester we had that 97 spirit and even if we are losing 5-0 sing we're going to win 6-5 but Hill has to accept those days are gone.If we are getting a drubbing some people will boo ,thats reality , I have never known a Manager moan as much about lack of money or the support at BFC like Hill, and the alleged stick that he has taken is nothing compared to some other managers. Hill is now creating the pressure on his team , not fans.
does anyone else see the irony in thweed callin someone a arrogant ****** and orsenprat agreein with him ?
Its because he's struggling to pull the team down with something on the back of 2 unbeaten games away from home. His pub team updates have gone **** up.
Ah so you'll eat your words if Hill is a "Jose in the making"? Not setting him high standards then, are you? And then you can come back and say how right you were and that there's no need to apologise. **** me, what a prat. Stop moaning at Hill and support the team.
