With only Greening & Buzsaky showing any form. However, we then switched Mellis & RNL round and moments later Tudgay equalised with a terrific header. in the second half other than a shot which came back off the post, Burnley offered nothing. Sinclair has blistering pace and could well be an asset in the next few matches. Obviously I'd have preferred a victory, but a point is better than nothing. Bloody cold, too.
Still got my coat on I'm that cold. I just want you to know that I though Goldbourne did ok, I only had one teeny weeny dig at him each half and his hair didn't look as bad cos I was in East Upper.
Re: Well I also thought the guy modelling the 125 shirt in the centre circle did a fantastic job. I was almost tempted to buy the Donny Rovers/ Sheff United replica. Hehe.
Help me Big Lil. Please. I usually agree with your assessment - what is it that Greening's doing other than slowing the momentum down and passing the ball to McNulty and Foster repeatedly? I need someone to tell me so I can start understanding it.
He keeps things simple Ensuring we keep possession, allowing Buzsaky more time and room to play the creative role. He's always making himself available to team mates, never hides and rarely misplaces his passes. He's a tidy player, a bit like Ray McHale in the sense of keeping things simple. I like him, but if others don't, fair enough.
Re: He keeps things simple I just don't think passing the ball back to the centre halves needlessly for them to piss about with it and end up losing it is keeping the ball. Easy pass forward on & he'd rather go backwards.
Re: He keeps things simple Ray McHale could tackle and play the ball forwards though mate! Greening seems unable to do that as yet, but we will see. We have not changed any tactic at all really, just signed different players to play the same way and it is still boring as ****, in my opinion anyway.
When you have five attack minded players In the team (Davies, Tudgay, RNL, Mellis, Buzsaky), then it's necessary to have a player in there who's more defensively minded, in my opinion.
Re: When you have five attack minded players But when you have those attacking players in the side surely it would be better to pass to those, rather than the centre halves, who and I am not being nasty here, who are not anywhere near good enough to pass the ball accurately enough to do any damage, I like having a player sitting deep, but I would want him to pass the ball to players that can get him a win bonus and Foster or Mc Nulty will not do that.
As I said I believe he's doing a good job. I don't think he's only passing the ball back to the central defenders, others are saying that's all he does. I'm sorry but I just don't see it like that.
We have got to play our wide men on their natural side. All this cutting inside all the time is not working. We looked our best tonight with Rueben on the left and Mellis on the right (though I would play jimbo there).
Exactly. All it does is have your wide man cut back inside to an already overcrowded area of the field.
