Can't speak for the other two but we were ideally situated for the first one and the linesman definitely bottled it, it was a definite pen,

RE: Why did the ref point to the Penalty spot ? I thought he pointed in the general direction and I commented he's given the pen..... ah well

he also bottled it when we got a freekick on the edge of the area and only counted 7 yards out. 6 yard box = 6 yards. 18 yard box = 18 yards 18 - 6 = 12 12 - 10 = 2. the wal should have been 2 yards in front of the 6 yard box yet they were stood on the penalty spot.
And why do walls line up obviously too close to the ball? How can a goalie line up a wall that is obviously then going to be moved back and alter the angles?!
I'm pretty sure you are all wrong. Reckon he was blowing and pointing for a foul by Odejaye before he was brought down. (only really sensible excuse for not giving it)
RE: He was pointing to the ball The play stopped though before the ball was out of play, yet play restarted with a goal kick! Also. when their goalie got injured - he restarted play with an uncontested drop ball for the goalie to pick up - the bloke was making up the rules as he went along!
Definitely pointed to the ball The defender won the ball and knocked it against Odejayi. He pointed to the ball to say that he'd won the ball - I worked that out from the far end of the East stand, he wasn't pointing anywhere near the spot!
Why did play stop before the ball was out of play? I swear that he blew the whistle and then pointed, Mostto (I think) was going for the loose ball and then stopped.
I have no idea - but he definitely pointed at the ball and not the spot, and certainly didn't blow for a penalty. Looked like a good tackle from where I was. Thought there should have been one penalty to each side, both for handball infront of the Burnley fans. One of our players definitely blocked a shot with an arm, and then their defender blocked a Devaney cross with his hand.
Didn't see their call for one in 1st half, they had a very good call for one in the last 5 mins though. I thought that if the ref was signaling that the ball was won, he uses his hands to motion the shape of a ball...he blew the whistle and pointed which everyone around us thought he'd given a penalty. Maybe he then realised he got it wrong and gave a goal kick which was wrong because the ball hadn't gone out
