Just for my own amusement really I have just created a list of the squad as it is right now. Like most, I suppose, I was losing track of who is in, who is out and who is already here. I have put them in the likely positions but, obviously, some are inter-changeable, so bear with me. I also know this could change tomorrow but the current situation is:

    Keeper:
    Adam Davies
    Nick Townsend

    Full back:
    Zeki Fryers
    Jason McCarthy
    Andy Yiadom
    Cole Kpekawa
    Ben Williams

    Centre half:
    Ethan Pinnock
    Liam Lindsay
    Angus McDonald
    Adam Jackson

    Wing:
    Lloyd Isgrove
    Steve Mallan
    Adam Hammill
    Ryan Hedges

    Centre midfield:
    Cameron McGeehan
    George Moncur
    Alex Mowatt
    Sessi D'Almeida

    Forward:
    Tom Bradshaw
    Stefan Payne

It seems we have cover everywhere except up front. Obviously there are some of the U23 squad who could step up this season to boost that first team squad but this, for the moment, is an unknown. I presume that the club is working hard to get a forward or two in. We certainly need them as things stand.

All in all, though - like most people - it looks a decent squad on paper. None of us knows how good any of the new boys are or how they will make the step up to this level. They might all take it to like naturals. Whatever happens over the next few weeks I'm looking forward to the new season. I always do.

    Thanks for this POR.
It shows clearly how desperately we need strikers !

I'm sure the matter will be addressed, and soon. All this criticism (from the usual quarters) is pointless as far as I am concerned. All we have to do is sit tight, enjoy the ride and then see where we are a month from now.

I think this is where we will use the loan system, as strikers always cost the most.

Fine by me. It has served us well recently. It will do so again

I agree, & on the plus side, with us having made all our signings so far on permanent deals, it gives us plenty of opportunity to use the loan market throughout the transfer windows with the limit being 6 players, not that I am suggesting we sign 6 loan players, but we do have plenty of room for manoeuvre.
