Watched this last night, it's basically a documentary about QPR and their owners taking them to the Premier League.

At first I thought it was just some self-gratification piece for QPR fans but it quickly became evident it wasn't - you see how brutal and impatient Flavio Briatore is, going through five managers in one season.

Barnsley are on it - the big defeat we had down there on the opening day of their promotion season, afterwards it shows Neil Warnock and Don Rowing having a laugh about something.

Definitely worth a watch, not often you get to see behind the scenes in so much detail. Also got the impression that QPR didn't really by their way to the Premier League, wages aren't mentioned often but actual transfer spending wasn't excessive at all.

If you've got Netflix it's on there.

It was on a few months ago, got well discussed on here. Quite compelling viewing, doesn't show the club in the best light though. I'd be embarrassed if that was us.

transfer spending wasnt excessive but as wages were not mentioned often it would be interesting to see what players like Taarabt were on

Exactly yeah as we've seen with the free agents this season you wouldn't have to spend a lot on transfer fees but would be paying upwards of 20K a week in wages - I didn't get that impression with these though, in one of the four seasons they nearly got relegated although you had to question the ability of the managers they had before Warnock. Didn't help that Briatore was actually telling some of the early managers which players to play though.

A few years ago though I bet Barnsley were paying 10K+ a week on the odd player, it's only been the last year or so with less TV money and lower gates that we've started crying poverty.

Can you remember the league tables they kept showing throughout it? Made me realise how well we have done over the last few years, not once did it show us near the relegation zone, for a lot of it we weren't visible on it as it was showing QPR in the bottom half with us presumably residing in the top half - funny how we forget this although we seem to have an end of season slump every year obviously.

Yeah sorry that thread must have passed me by, would like to see us do something similar even though we have no "plan" as such, I'm assuming this documentary would have got binned if they didn't actually get promotion at the end of the four years.

Would be funny to see Don and Keith emptying a big whiskey bottle full of copper and counting it out on transfer deadline day.
