Germany has started the process of subsuming Greece into a new Greater Germany.

This time without a shot being fired...

I'm finding it really difficult to have any sympathy with Greece. While I believe those working in the public sector should be well paid, in Greece they were earning more than anywhere else in Europe. Again, I'm fine with that, if they could afford it, but they couldn't. And then there's the question of tax. A lot of Greeks don't pay any.

Since the global economic crash many countries in Europe have introduced austerity measures, but Greece didn't do that, they carried on spending. Countries who took these austerity measures, inflicting real hardship on some of their citizens, then had to pay to bail Greece out who had been living it up.

I realise that's a very simplistic synopsis of a very complex situation, but if we get down to brass tacks, that's about the size of it.

How many Greek millionaires (or indeed any one) were paying tax? Whole cities would take in around £10 000 Euros a YEAR in tax. Whole cities! Makes our tax dodgers (who we should be jailing forth with) look like saints.

Doesn't excuse the scumbags who are trying to bankrupt Greece. These people WANT a default - they want forced privatisation - and it'll be coming to a country near you, very soon.

How much money was handed over to the banksters to bail them out for their own greed? Why shouldn't Greece (at a fraction of the cost) be bailed out?

The only way to end this cycle is to jail all these oligarchs, money men and so called masters of the universe. They love chaos - they benefit and want defaults - it could be argues that they are the real terrorists. Terrorising whole nations - forcing changes of employment, living standards and even governments. We've all of a sudden got plenty of legislation for it, let's use it against the real threats to humanity.

All probably correct but their two previous bail outs have bailed out backs and not actually helped anyone.

I can see civil unrest ensuing

Both these are appropriate - and living in Ireland, we have also been royally fecked.
