Is it possible that Southend have offered us some "incentive" to move to Friday? Say a cut of the Sky money? Just thinking aloud, not wanting to start rumours :)

I think he means the money that Southend will get for being on sky on the monday night.

I'm struggling to see why barnsley have offered to lower their income for the cup game and lower their chances of progressing to the next round just to keep Southend happy.

    Lower income?

Possibly not. assuming it's a percentage of the gate we get - not based on the away support, there may be a bigger crowd on Friday night than if it had been the Saturday (I seem to remember Southend often played on a Friday night?). Lets face it, Friday or Saturday, there wouldn't have been a massive contingent of Reds fans would there?

Plus, they'll be fresher to beat the scum on TV on Monday which can't be a bad thing. :D

We have a match the following Tuesday against Colchester so it probably suits Barnsley to move the fixture as well.
