The Hassell Question???

Im curious to know if Davey has ever been asked why he plays Bobby in midfield and what his response was, apart from a lack of player resources.

 

My guess is that Davy is defensively minded and wants at least one utlity player in midfield who can fill in any of the defensive roles

 

He Has Options

He is called Andy Johnson, quite simply 3 times the midfeilder Hassel can dream about becoming.
Thats why Davey is a poor manager , he thinks of his own opinions and insecurity rather than the good of the result.

He probably thinks if you have a defender in midfield it gives you more options during the game ,can Johnson play at centre half or right/left back ? we know Bobby can.....problem is Bobby isn't consistant in midfield but he can play there,he was awesome against Chelsea, Barnsley's Lothar Matthaus !!!!!

 

Every player was awesome against Chelsea, mainly because they all raised their own games and didn't need any motivation to do so.

 

True, I'm only trying to think why Davy would persist with Hassell in midfield.I think its a negative tactic but to me there's no other plausible explanation unless Davy thinks Bobby really is Matthausesque

 

Stubborn is the best guess I think. I think Davey needs some classic reverse psychology, if everyone starts saying how great Hassell is in midfield and he definitely shouldn't be playing at right back and that Odejayi is the next Henry, he'll definitely address the problems sooner rather then later.

not being funny, but we could deliberate on here all day, we all think he's **** in there and causes more prblems than he creates, its probably Davey sticking the 2's up at us, saying 'im playing who i want, despite what might happen'. if thats not the case, then SD really is wearing a completely different pair of specs to the rest of us, or has decided he'll do a wenger and not see anything bad that goes off...surely hassell can feel he's out of his depth there...

 

I think a few losses will bring Davy round to a more conventional midfield formation,he will remember what happened to Ritchie,last season counts for nothing .On the positive side he did play with two wingers away from home .

...... when his persistence with playing Hassell in midfield (and believing Odejayi 'will come good') costs him his job, I'll enjoy giving him the twos as he's heading off to the Jobcentre

name a good game against a lesser side than chelsea or liverpool...

that hes had he`s looked very poor in my opinion against every championship side. maybe he needs to play the position in the premiership and we could swap him for one that can play it in the championship

 

might have played well against Chelsea but been crap every other game!

 

it happened with chrisstenson, the mans a stubborn barsteward thats not listening, ive no faith in him at all. come oct 1st things might alter when hes gone.
