All what the Labour Party talked about in the last election was 'poor people'.
I travel up and down this country - doesn't the Labour Party realise that most people in Britain go to work and have a relatively good standard of living?

Well I said it during the election campaign.........'Cameron has stolen Tony Blairs clothes and has parked his bus firmly on the ground of New Labour'.

After Camerons speech yesterday this confirmed it...........The Conservatives are now the new, New Labour.

I've never voted Conservative, and don't think I ever would.........but I have to say, Cameron is the best Tory Prime Minister in my lifetime.

Some will say Thatcher........but Thatcher was just a slash and burn politician.

Cameron is trying to build something while also trying to solve problems in society.

A problem here is that some people in Barnsley don't travel much away from the area - so they think most people in Britain live like they do.

THEY DONT...............us in Barnsley are relatively poor compared to large parts of the country.

And that's why, when the BBC News puts up the political map of England it is mostly coloured blue.

Sorry Nudge, but that's just nonsense. Camoron might have had the cords & blazer tories frothing at the mouth yesterday as they lapped up his nonsensical speech, but the blatant lies he told, openly, about Corbyn paint a different picture. And fair play to Corbyn for not reacting to them as some might say he'd be entitled.

    I'm with you Nudge.
Not only was yesterday's speech inspired by Cameron it also makes him the only electable candidate for PM in 2020. Which begs the question, who's going to replace him.

Dave is clearly trying to leave a legacy behind him. He could be the conservative leader that killed off the Labour Party. If that's what he's aiming for I'd bet on him succeeding.

I like Corbyn - he seems a very genuine type of guy. And so does the shadow chancellor.

But I think its fascinating that the Tories have been looking at Blair for years through envious eyes - trying their utmost to get to the place that Blair was occupying - its taken the Tories years to try and do this - but they finally put the lid on it yesterday.
And the Labour Party have just let them do it.

Cameron speech was ok..........but for me there is only one party political leader that could give a rousing speech and that was Tony Blair.

Cameron is making Thatcher look like Mother Teresa,

The most callous, uncaring government I think we've had.

But mainly because the Tories tend to hold rural constituencies which are much larger in area than the inner city urban constituencies which Labour end to hold.

Barnsley is poor for many reasons. Historically no one needs to me to what's happened but we all know.

I hate the torys in general but even I admit that they can get some things right.

    However

There isn't much rush for businesses to set up here. And when they do they do it cos they know they can pay *****. (Pay ***** = tory)

you can get a decent wage in the council. But they will hardly be any council left (another tory)

So they (tory) now decide to let councils keep business rates. Good luck bmbc you will need it. The difference in grant (current) to keeping rates (tory) will ensure that bmbc will scale back much much further (tory).

Then how much of bmbc is left to try and attract business to the area is anyone's guess.

Double edge sword. Drop rates to attract leaves no income for bmbc. Have them relatively higher and business won't come.

Good luck everyone you will need it if you want to continue to earn a crust in barnsley.

Tory.... looking after big business and city regions carries on. Who have now set councils and authorities in competition with each other (and we know historically tory success on privatisation for competition) so I don't hold much hope that this is going to work either...

Not at you nudge but a general tory bashing.

A legacy of what you buffoon ????

Total privatisation of every public service whilst idiots like you think he's great? ??
You ought to read private eye every two weeks to din out what a lying tw@t he abs his cronies are

Isuppose you believe that he will get a grip on immigration, after all he's only had 5 years so far, he's robbing poorer people in society to keep bankers as wealthy as possible abs like t Blair lining up more lucrative jobs for when he's totally ruined the country and we pay him a huge pension for having left this country worse off than it wad when he came to power

And have you seen how much the deficit has reduced or opened your eyes abs seen how he has used that to privatise more pubbing services and being able to distance himself from them when they fail? ??

I could go on but I'm sure you get the message ...

Viva Corbyn let's start the revolution now ;)

Weve had years of labour buffoonery folowed by some coalition buffoonery now to the tory buffoonery.

I dont think it matters what colour tie they wear those in charge are only out to feather their own nests.

Be a bit more fun if they brought in proportional representation as the voting method.
