If we are supposed to be doing it, from what I have seen this season, we aren't doing what it says on the tin. We seem to have adopted a mentality of many players out of position, jogging to get back into position or the defensive line when needed. Then when we press, we certainly don't seem to be doing it within our own half. When we do eventually win the ball back, it is almost always followed by a misplaced pass, handing possession back to the opposition. So many elements of the basic game seem to have gone to the wayside, we really need to go back to basics in training, concentrating on passing drills and positional play in the first instance. It's no good pressing an opposition to give the ball back and find the shape of our own team out of sync... We need a strong vocal leader on the pitch, something we are severely lacking. Even Helik isn't that vocal. If anyone has seen Eibar play, they seem to have one of the most effective styles of the pressing game and although not the most talented side in the world they make it work for them, I'd like to see our style modelled around that as we seem to have lost our way. Bring their manager whilst we are at it... Sithi Schopp.
