While he is really good at the defensive headers and pretty good in the tackle as well, when he is at the other end his heading is woeful. How many times already have we seen him get his head to a corner (I know this is rare seeing as we hardly ever land one in the six yard box that is away from the keeper) but the effort sails over the bar or wide. He is a long way off being The Black Winstanley/McCarthy/Evans but the early signs are promising at least. If he could just work on directing his headers at goal we could just have a proper centre half on our hands. Having said that I know that his job is to defend and, on the evidence so far, our defence is as leaky as ever, but it would be nice to see him use that height and strength to get us the odd goal or two. It will come, hopefully.
Should probably practice passing to team mates as well... Though he does look the sort of player we need
My opinion is M'Voto is exactly what we needed......a big strong no-compromise defender who has got presence. Most fans cannot grasp the fact that if we had a strong defender who can score headers from corners, pass accurately when we are attacking, etc. then he would not be at Barnsley, he would be in Premiership. From what I've seen, M'Voto will be a good asset for BFC.
No complaints from me regarding M'Voto. For the type of player he is and considering that this is his first season at this level, he's been pretty faultless.
Yes I know and once he gets some confidence I think he will do it for us too. I'm not complaining because his effort has been top notch but, like most people, it is annoying to see so many corners wasted. As I said it is so rare for us to land one on a Barnsley player's head so it would be nice to give the opposition something to worry about when we get one
Frustrates me as well, with the amount of times he gets to the ball first in the oppositions box he should do a bit better. He reminds me a bit of Titus Bramble, big, strong and solid 90% of the time but always seems to make a couple of bad errors each game like with the goal against Wigan & Charlton's 2nd. Hopefully Flicker will get them out of his game.
