Or play Hourihane as the attacking point behind a striker maybe. No defensive duties.

I like Berry and Bailey but I seem to be in a minority on here.

I've always rated him and the game did change when he came on.

Totally agree. that lad is underrated. He mad a massive difference by finding a red shirt with a pass and by putting himself about a lot and getting some tackles in. He should be a regular starter

I like Berry and given we have nowt to play for I would be starting him in the position he played today for the rest of the season.

    This.

Even if only to give Hourihane a rest, because maybe that is what has slowed him down.

Berry is a very good player who spent the most part of his time in the squad at the start of the season, out of position in order to accommodate both he and Hourihane.

Scowen and Berry could hold their own in a midfield 2.

Hopefully we will have a good start to next season and better preseason. I can't help thinking that we have been playing catch up from the very first kick in preseason, where we hardly had a team to put out. Remember we started the season with Brown, Rose, Treacy, Lita, who are no longer here, had inexperience in Nana, McHale, Digby, Abbott, Dibble making up the game day team / squad. We now have some you uns grown in experience Holgate, Smith, Bree, Davies. Plus still have a young squad with players like Berry, Winnall, Hourihane, Scowan. I think there will be some go and more come in so all in all I'm looking forward to how Johnson builds on this.

He offered plenty of movement and upped the tempo attacking wise.

He didn't come on on his own. The double substitution of both Luke and Jabo created more movement up front and from that most of the team benefited. Even Declan who I thought was having a poor game played better when there was more movement around him. Is Hourihane a stifler?

I'm glad it wasn't just me that thought Berry was good. Early in the season he was played on the right which didn't suit him so much but still did okay and he played well today, deserves his chance for the rest of the season in his position I think.

Ordinary player, would get in very few other teams in this division. To his credit he came on and won some ball today for a change but still fairly clueless in a creative sense. Twenty yard volleys back to the defence from good positions in the opposite half with seconds left spring to mind.

Afraid I have to Completely disagree with you on this. Berry is one of our best players for picking a forward pass. If you don't believe me rewatch our games from the start of the season and count the number of times we created chances on the back of him picking out a good forward pass in the build up. In fact count how many times he won the ball back relative to others, and I bet you'd be surprised... All that out of position.

Also, watch the warm ups.. He's substantially more technically gifted in the way he strikes and passes the ball than most of our players.

He's clearly a good player for me. One that we should be looking to develop not get rid of.
