Coupl of years ago we go to CARDIFF to play SWANSEA in a big final - CARDIFF fans all rooting for us and beside themselves when we beat the Jacks. This year we go to Wembley to play CARDIFF so will the SWANSEA fans all be rooting for us to beat the Bluebirds? Given the hatred/rivalry/friendly banter between them I suspect the answer is yes. Funny old game Anyone else find it a surreal experience watching the tv at 1.25 knowing that Barnsley are in the FA Cup Semi-Final draw? I'll repeat that, just so I really believe it....Barnsley were in tghe SEMI-FINAL draw!!!!!!! (dancin)
Am I mad, in a coma or in the semi finals of the FA cup ? (with deference to Sam Tyler on Life on Mars)
Surreal is the understatement of the century !

They'll be rooting for you, have no doubt about that. There's no such thing as "friendly banter" between Cardiff and Swansea - it's pure unadulterated hatred. Ask Simon Davey.
RE: The Irony, Swansea-Barnsley-Cardiff Triangle.......and Other links are of course Simon Davey is a Swansea lad so he will want to beat Cardiff Plus plus plus plus............we have the Cryne + Shep.......versus........Ridsdale + McPhail........ NICE
And on top of that we have the...............Chopra thingy....... Ridsdale stole him from us when he had agreed to come to the TARN Lots and lots and lots ...................of scores to be settled I darn't even mention the bad feeling between the fans and the welsh police.............Youtube........Cardiff + Barnsley (battered)
RE: The Irony, Swansea-Barnsley-Cardiff Triangle.......and Yes, and SD has been saying that he wanted Boro to win in the papers down here, so he'll be no different when we play. He has been diagnosed to be suffering with a common complaint with our retarded "cousins" down west - "second city syndrome", commonly known as 2CS. I didn't think McPhail had that game yesterday in him, but take my hat off to him, thought he was excellent.
Odd question maybe but what do Cardiff folk think of Dylan Thomas? He being from "that" part of South Wales, and getting a fair bit of fame along the way, is he revered as a Great Welshman in your parts, or don't you give a damn for his musings about Swansea Town and the like?
RE: Odd question maybe but what do Cardiff folk think of Dylan Thomas? Town drunk who could write a few limericks.
Aren't all poets like that? Not my favourite by any means but I had to study him for A level English a long time ago. Set against the likes of John Donne and John Clare, at least his "limericks" were mildly amusing.
