Wonderful performance by all our players today....and fans. Now I feel we have just a little bit of momentum. The revelation is kelvin at full back. Immense. The most improved player is young dale. The lad is quality. Our very own Eden hazard. Nyatanga and jonny mvoto were awesome and daws is clearly relishing the leadership role. Liam l now looks like the perfect fit and cog was superhuman.
The real irony for me is that danny now seems to have found his best eleven and bugger me......there's only one of that eleven he has brought in. He's managed us to our best two performances of the season with Hillcrofts Ten. Whilst I thought I would never doubt Danny I was beginning to have serious second thoughts.
I'm thinking now that he changed things too quickly and made too many rushed decisions in the early days. However, whether by default or design we seem like we might be back on track. There appears to be a harmony there which has been missing previously and it seems as tho the players are appreciating a more level headed and less emotional management style. The appointment of crossly and Hutchings looks sound and whether we stay up or go down I'm deffo back on board for backing Danny in the long run and rebuilding our wonderful club.
Today was a great experience and it gives us all that little bit of hope. The fat lady isn't even rehearsing yet.

There seems to be truth in that. In the Sky Spotlight interview with Steele yesterday he said:

"The gaffer: The gaffer has brought in a football philosophy. He's a much calmer manager than I've had in quite a few years. He reminds me a bit of Mark Robins in his approach and he likes to play good football. He likes characters, he likes people who are going to play and get their foot on the ball whether it is wind, rain or snow. That's what I like in a manager, and he's certainly got the best out of certain individuals. Hopefully he can help us kick on this year and next."

I think it's a combination of luck and judgement

the Defence has to be luck Injuries meant we only had 3 fit defenders and one of those was Big Jean lets be honest none of us would have gone for the current back 4 but it the last 2 games the defence has lucked better than I have seen it all season

Midfield I will go more with judgement Jennings is obvious but the blend of Dawson. Lawrence and Cywka was A result of spotting that what we had wasn't working Id put that down to judgement

finally the tactics the last 2 games we have been back fighting closing the opposition down and forcing errors. Flicker didn't play Jennings or Cywfca and didn't have Lawrence so that's not a Hillcroft midfield

Quite true - to be fair he stuck with the players he brought in and tried to make them gel but it wasn't working. Credit to him for changing it.

The oddest/best thing is the partnership of M'Voto and Nyatanga. Only time will tell if it's a fleeting thing, but they've obviously played well together. Nyatanga has barely kicked a ball all season and M'Voto was clearly struggling with any sort of form - but all of a sudden they're pitched in together and they seem to gel.

I have no idea how that works, but it obviously has. It's a stupid game.

As I said earlier, Nyatanga and M'Voto are currently an example of a pairing that are much greater than the sum of their parts. WIison clearly didnt think this as anyone would pick Cranie and Ramage over them, but it goes to show that you just can't tell. Of course they'd need to keep doing this for more than two games, but they've clearly helped to win us 2 games by a comfortable margin :)

It's great seeing Nytanga and M'Voto together. At the Reading match they seemed to be giving each other encouragement and fist-bumping etc. I guess they both realised that they were the weak link, and decided together to give it a bloody good go. After one of them did a particular good clearence, the other one would go over and give them a well done pat.

When Hunt, McLaughlin, Cranie and Ramage are back fit it'll be interesting to see what Danny does, particularly if we keep up this good run of form.

There's all sorts of elements, some luck, some judgement, so explainable, some not!

If Danny's originals hadn't have gelled back in the day from West Brom away who knows?!?

Sometimes it's just a bit of luck, a right decision or two and the right time etc etc. let's just get behind what's gone off (for whatever reasons) and hope to God that DW is god!

Perhaps the player has only just started to show the right attitude?

I'm just saying I can see why Danny hasn't been selecting him.

I think we are in that backs to the wall situation we were in last year & players either sink or swim. Two matches ago we were submerged.
Now we are bobbing up for air & the lifeboat is in sight!

Agreed. If everyone was fit and we had Hunt/Ramage/Cranie in the back four for the last two games I doubt we'd have picked up two wins.

Ever thought that Tommy needed a run of starts to find some sort of form? He's never had that in all his time with us, now he has he is playing his part.
