Now we do not know what is going on behind the scenes. However I'm becoming increasingly worried about our apparent failure to strengthen the squad. With the current sqaud I dare say we are a almost certainly a good bet to go down. I know we have been for the last 3 seasons, however this season more than ever. At the end of last season I didn't particularly want Davey to stay. I have never liked him. However I have always wanted to give him a chance and I have willed myself to believe all the hype that comes out of Oakwell, declaring what a good young manager he is. If Patrick backs him there must be something good in it. Unfortunately I fail to see exactly what he sees. Anyway, at the conclusion of last season, with all the apparent honesty being displayed by Cryne and Davey, regarding their faults and an expression of a need to change, I thought ok let's put the past behind us and move forward. I hoped for an exciting change to the way Davey and the club portrayed itself. Problem is, nothing appears to have changed. The club still hide behind very poor spin stories about good players we are apparently interested in who we never, in real terms got close to signing. Then there are these stories of third rate players who we trial who they expect us to be excited about. My town, my club, my blood! They are always expecting us to show pride, get behind the club and most importantly spend money. To me that is a given to most people who post on this board. Cut us and we bleed red, we love our club and our very defensive over our town. I feel the club continue to decieve us. I am very proud of the way they have set an example with the ticket price. However it is now time to show us some ambition on the pitch. Mr Davey please sign some good players soon. Stop all the ifs and maybes. You might think I am not giving them a chance and I'm getting jittery. But don't u feel a even just a little, the same? All we ask is a comfortable competitive Championship season and some honesty. I better end it there as I'm going on and getting lost.
