We need to be in the Championship within the next two seasons. Johnson is not the man to take us there. We can't sack him after ten games. So all we can do is tread water until those in charge decide that a change is needed. I'm saying June 2016.
Patrick has said LJ will be his last ever manager/head coach so unless we've a new owner coming in shortly we should get used to him.
I'm still undecided. There are times when we win comfortably and look a class act a la Swindon/Gillingham at home. But then we go away from home, against admittedly poor teams so far, and it all falls apart. If we can emulate our last couple of home performances away from home then we'll do well. If not, it's going to be mid-table again. Let's see where we are at Christmas.
But you would only slag the next manager off after he loses a couple or gos on a bad run so just a viscous circle really.
Agree Johnson will not achieve promotion this season FACT He may change his philosophy and start learning from past mistakes in which case next season may be a more profitable one. The sands of time will dictate one way or another. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kg9LasvLFE
I think they will go to December 16 with LJ if it's not looking to be working by then even PC will be questioning LJ if we not looking at promotion. December gives LJ the transfer windows he said he needed. PC saying LJ would be the last manager he appoints says more about how much time PC is giving it as in his involvement with bfc instead of how much backing he is giving LJ Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
What if we appoint someone who has the experience and application to propel us forward? Lee Jay didn't tick the relevant boxes for many of us but who would have done? New managers are always a gamble but it helps if they have a track record of some success. Remind me what success Lee Jay has had ?
I will criticise any manager who I don't think is performing to the adequate level. In this division we should have three aims:- 1. Champions 2. Automatic promotion 3. Promotion via the play offs. Any manager will be judged regarding their ability to meet these targets or not.
I know pal I meant he could be sacked in december 16 to give the new manager the January transfer window to work with Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Ah right, doesn't read like that. Apols. I can see us being in a similar position to where we are now at year end so there'll be no change of manager. I don't think there should be either. We nearly pushed on into the playoffs last season from a much worse position.
I wasn't too struck on the appointment but he is here now. Nobody has success until they are given the chance pat cryne saw potential in him with the job he was doing at oldham so gave him the chance. Danny Wilson had success as a manager but didn't work out here last season, we all wanted rid of flicker scince then he has took a Bury side from been almost relegated from the football league and the are not in play offs in our league. Alot of people wanted Nigel adkins here before Johnson (me included) he is now at Sheffield United with alot bigger budget than what Lee Jay has and there not exactly running away with the division.
No you are right it didn't read as meant. I think it would be fair to give LJ this season and next season up to Christmas to get us where we want to be.if we are still mid table then I don't see any alternative but at least we can all agree then he has had a fair opportunity to be successful Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
He's had more than 10 games, he masterminded a 9 game run without winning last season. Yes we also had a 9 game unbeaten run before that but Burton and Heckingbottom started that run off. LJ hasn't got a plan B and proved that yesterday.
I was thinking more that we can't sack him ten games into a season. Didn't stop Peterborough and Oldham I suppose.
Just depends who's calling the shots for the definition of adequate level as you put it. If its results as you seem to be inferring then its miles too early to judge as although disappointing not disastrous at this stage by any means. Performances are slowly getting better as are the mistakes . We have a young squad with the emphasis of recruiting from within the accademy and spotting potential from under the radar.. We are ten weeks into a season long campaign, far too early to judge IMO we have had great, good, bad and indifferent performances which may click or may not let's wait and see. It seems calling for the managers head when instant success or dominance is not immanent an be a bigger downfall than having a bit of patience IMO .i
