Seamus Coleman (Everton right back) signed a five and a half year year deal with Everton in December. Expected to return from injury in a couple of weeks. Jagielka played right back for Everton the other week. Tony Hibbert.

Stones is only 18 and has played 24 games in the Championship. Everton are 1 point off a Champions league place. Its not good PR for Everton to sign a player for £3m and loan him back immediately, but maybe David Moyes might look at loaning him out in a few weeks time.

Loan window opens 8th Feb and shuts 24th March. 3 points at Blackpool, Stones back on loan in a few weeks.

If that doesn't happen, Delap gives us vast experience and a useful long throw (Listeneing to Don Rowings interview. Delap has been brought in to replace Stones, so will play wing back)

If he does not come back on loan after what was made public the club have been very weak in negotiations. My view is ...............Flick ain't that weak.

Agreed. If i am wrong, i look forward to watching him on MOTD (might start watching it again!) no doubt It was a hard decision for the board to make. We are 4 points off safety. I would imagine they considered the clubs position, as did Stones (Rowing said he wanted to leave). If we rejected Everton/Wigan' bids until the summer, and we get relegated, would we get £3m for a league 1 player?

Its a great opportunity for the lad and hopefully he will give Barnsley an identity in the Premier League, Europe, and maybe even at a full international level.

I wonder if Everton and Barnsley came to some loan agreement for some other players at Everton?

He won't come back on loan. BFC have said so. Everton presumably have plans to use him or at least have him in the 1st team squad.
