There have already been calls for a ban

on all Tom and Jerry Cartoons because of the extreme violence. Apparantly children may be encouraged to beat each other up in the same way. I must have been odd because I never thought that cartoons were real.

    And...

I always knew that walloping other kids weren't exactly the right thing to do. Didn't stop me a few times but I still knew.

Perhaps....no don't say it. Oh **** it.. the parents ought to get a grip?

    Milk and water

That's the kind of society we are fast becoming. Soon we'll be so bland there'll be nothing to get up for, and the relentless loony left will have won.

Instead of turning our attentions to the real issues of the day - like extreme adult violence, fired up by unacceptable over the top adult entertainment - oh and of course how we are going to accommodate 300,000 Romanian and Bulgarian gangsters on top of the 430k Poles and 200k other migrants who have made a beeline for these shores since we took the EEC doors off the hinges and burnt them.

    So there!

I love how "the loony left" are blamed..

everytime some story such as this one comes to light. I would classify myself as left wing and think this story is ridiculous.

Its just as likely to have come from a Christian facist as a loony lefty.

    Build more houses?

Don't have a problem with it

It's a sign of changing attitudes to smoking, there are regulations already in force that you shouldn't show smoking as a "cool" thing to do....only takes a little editing and if it stops only one child from trying a cigarette I think it's worthwhile.

    to be honest...

... what gets me more than the smoking and the violence, is the editing of the tv programmes in general.

I want to watch as it was intended, not after someone else has fiddles with the programmes.

    Yes..

I hold Sherlock Holmes and in particular the Jeremy Brett interpretation of said character reponsible for starting me on this disgusting habit.

From reading the books I also take opium and cocaine

No because that's not a cartoon aimed at kids that might influence them and is easily edited.

What about the black momma what shouts "Thomaaas" whilst sweeping the floor. Should this racist stereotype be edited out?

If only you'd bought the ACME jet train (and railroad) like me, you'd be able to escape sharpish. Oops, think the engine's got twisted so it's going to fire me into a cliff face at unfeasible speed and then I'll fall 500 ft onto a desert floor.

    And then crawl away squashed.
