That we don't have enough old heads in the side. It only takes a couple of old heads in there who have done it and can get the younger ones heads out of there butt holes when the going gets tough. I'm fed up of this bull shine that the club are wanting to do with just signing younger players. It's carp. You need at least a couple of late 20s early 30s to bring them on. There's too much responsibility and expectance on their young heads and some will deal with it, others won't. The long term longevity of it is great and I agree it's a good path to go down but just don't go with it without signing a couple of experienced pros. It's about time whoever is making or recommending the signings realises this.

I was thinking the same. The team seem to have lost games recently through lack of experience.

    You're preaching to the converted.

I think everyone on here will agree with you.

It's Johnson & the powers that be at Oakwell that think you can do well with a bunch of kids

Mmmmm me thinks Bobby should have been signed on, even just to be around the dressing room

    100% spot on.
I like the strategy of recruiting hungry young promising players. Players who look good and you know are just going to get better. LJ has done a great job of recruiting players like Mawson, Roberts, Pearson, etc
But you must have 2-3 experienced heads in there with them.

Individually we must have one of the best squads in the league but we keep getting beaten by less talented but more experienced teams.

The second related problem you have is once you have maximised the potential of your first intake of young players they will probably be sold out from under you before the second lot have developed so in the summer if we follow the strategy then Conor, Sam and Josh could be on their way before their contract expires.

And it starts all over again. We'll be told to be patient, to give them time to gel and develop because we're following a long term strategy but due to the nature of football it can be a short term strategy.

Spot on...........getting turned over by ( lesser) players than we have.
We are getting "old maned" on a regular basis.
