Did anybody else think he looked an absolute animal on Saturday? Won everything in the air - M'Voto without the mistakes? That long throw should grab us a few goals too!
First half was a CB performance I've not seen since M'voto away at Charlton. Hopefully Robbo can do it every week. Robbo's throw is another reason we need some experience upfront. Its a absolute weapon but Wilkinson and Winnall didnt really seem know how to make it effective.
The lad's had a decent start to his league career. Making the most of his long throws will be done through practice, hard work & the developing of an understanding out on the training pitch. It'll come, but it might take a bit of time.
That bit of form M'voto came into was amazing. I really thought he would keep us up for a while - was disappointed that he couldn't hold down a place last year.
Same I liked M'Voto but he did always have a mistake in him. Had we signed him in this division I think he'd have done well for us. Coming into a poor Championship side did him no favours and there wasn't really any coming back after that.
A decent wholehearted start. I worry a bit about how quickly he can turn, although very quick over 10/15 yards. The interesting thing will be when LJ realises 3 at the back doesn't work, which centre back will he leave out?
I reckon there'll be enough game time for all 3 of them, assuming we'll be playing 3 at the back at times and there's bound to be injuries. I thought Smith played well too by the way - very harsh to give him any stick! Nyatanga might well be playing left back if we move to 4 at the back though.
Agreed. What we could do with is for Robbo to launch one into the box and then run into the box and meet it at the far stick himself. Yes he did boss it on Saturday by the way, especially in the air and he turned Ebanks-Blake inside out at one point too. My heart was in my mouth but he managed it safely!
I like him and I think he has been the most consistent player in the preseason friendlies. A few on the floor issues that the coaching staff know of and that they think will improve with regular professional training. I think he looks composed, works well with Mawson and does have a long throw. Thought his stint at RB didn't work vs Middlesborough but seems its not just him. However he did try to play it the right way getting forward so obviously heeds instructions and guidance. A good find I think.
It's also great that he can chuck it so far from deep in our own half - very easy to clear our lines!
That tackle where he literally put there lad into the stand right in front of tarn fans in first 5 minutes right got us going, was brilliant! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Correct, but no harm in noticing a good performance from a young lad playing which I believe is his first game in professional football? Correct me if I'm wrong mind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like him a good old fashioned player. I look forward to seeing him develop and get better with professional coaching.
