'Barnsley's forward line lacked (compared to Plymouths) the same level of pace and movement'
Richards again held the ball up well but was dire in front of goal
Hayes, £500,000 !!!, if the can get 50,000 for Hayes they should snatch Southends hand off

We are begining to get sussed out in this league
Teams know how to stop us playing ie. stop the supply to the wingers
In saying that, Plymouth are a really tight knit team and should do well.
They haven't got the quality like Cardiff but they work hard for each other.
So all in all it was a good result against a good team.
Although we looked tired at the end which was probably the result of 10 men against Wendy on Setdi

But please please please can we have some more players please
ie. 2 forwards, left back, centre half cover
Also I thought Colgan had a bad game last night, how many corners did they have, and how many did Colgan come out and catch? Answer - Nil.

Can't complain about Richards. He scored one, hit the post, had an header hit the defender... What more can he do?? He also held it up well.

Agree we need a LB and a ST who will be around the 6 yard box.

Btw, Colgan claimed one cross in the second half from a corner! :pff

I think thats a pretty accurate report. If our front two had had the pace of the 33 or is it 34 year old Hayles we could have had 6 goals.

The strikers are not quick enough to get into the scoring zone when Devaney and McIndoe are running riot. Plymouth left Richards unmarked for his goal so all he had to do was put it in. As for the header he knocked back,he had an excellent view of where the other players were he was facing in the right direction and still misdirected his header. He was only 20th in the goal scoring charts last season so I fail to see why some of you rate him so highly.

The guy does have some potential. Majority of time he appears to be playing alone. Maybe that's not the case on paper, but the link up between Hayes and Richards is not good, always too much distance between the two.
If you look at Hayles and there No.9, they played close togethor and seemed to know where each other were.

End of day, too many Barnsley fans are quick to jump on his back. If he tries, he's alleged to be ****. If he scores, he is alleged to be ****. No win situation for him. 5 goals in 11 not bad return so far for a **** striker. Based on that he should be getting 15-20 goals.

Bleedin' hell Nudger

You're mellowing.

Not sure about being sussed out, not sure about Colgan having a bad game (2 very important top drawer saves come to mind), but basically I agree with what you are saying.

I enjoyed the game last night, but came home feeling disappointed for just the second time this season (first time the away game at Burnley), not exactly sure why, but I think it was the amount of sloppy play, the poor showing of the centre halves and the missed opportunities.

RE: Bleedin' hell Nudger..............not mellowing, think same, but more problems now

Hayes and Richards hardly good enough for league 1 never mind the championship
Nardia - not sure of, we need to see more of him
Also, need a tall experienced centre half
Also, starting to think Hecky and Austin are not up to it
Also, on last nights performance, Colgan is still having problems dominating his area. Although he probably is the best shot stopper in this league

But on the positives - Kay and Hassel have proved a better partnership than i thought possible even though i still think Hassel is too small for that position
Togwell has been a revelation
Two wingers are doing really well
Howard must be now worth £1m

Hmmm, not sure I agree with you now:

Hayes & Richards have 4 goals and 5 goals respectively. Good returns in a 'strikers score goals' arguament.

Yes, a fit and healthy Matt Carbon replacement is required.

None of our full backs are quite upto the job.

Kay and Hassel did not perform well last night, both goals and several other good opportunities were their fault.

Togwell, great.

Wingers, best in league, Macca caused thm problems all night, after first 15 mins he had pushed their winger so far back all he did all night was to perform defensive duties.

Howard is an exciting, forward thinking, goal getting midfielder who, unfotunately leaves Togger a little exposed at times, however, a better replacement would have to be in the mould of Keane (at his peak) or Viera.

Richards was unmarked so all he had to do was knock it in and THATS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID for the 5th time this season and it still counted the same as Kay's screamer in the first couple of minutes!

So you want 5 brand new players?

Idiot, might as well give the administrators a ring now and tell them to get on their way?

Not happy with a club with passion. You don't half talk some sh*te

Well

Play off monies

600k Extra TV money

Flinders monies

2000 (at present average) additonal fans per game (not played anyone with decent support yet either) = 1.29m

Money we will lose if we go down.=??

Cryne (we may find the money for the right player)

Shepherd (AR has money)

I do not accept there is no money, I do however accept that the board may choose to use it for other purposes. I accept that the board may decide to limit the wage bill which may or may not preclude us from competing for players with teams in our division (Colchester for example)

As I have said previously its a matter of financial risk either way.
